Suspect declared 'Heil Hitler!' after Jewish site shootings
By HEATHER HOLLINGSWORTH, Associated Press | March 2, 2015 | Updated: March 2, 2015 6:20pm

OLATHE, Kan. (AP) A man accused of fatally shooting three people at Jewish sites in Kansas declared "Heil Hitler!" and asked how many Jews he had killed after the attacks, a police officer testified Monday during a hearing in which the man's apology to some survivors was rejected.
Frazier Glenn Miller, 74, is charged with capital murder in the April 13, 2014, shootings at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City in Overland Park, Kansas, and at a nearby Jewish retirement home. None of the victims was Jewish.
Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty.
At a preliminary hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to put Miller on trial, Overland Park police Sgt. Marty C. Ingram, who was working off-duty at the Jewish Community Center, testified that he heard shots and saw the doors of the center's theater shatter. He said he took cover as more shots hit the building's facade.
"Dust, smoke was flying everywhere at that point," he said. The gunman then drove away.

(45,251 posts)like. I know that is not who you are.
And, if I thought you were calling me a Fox minion, my reply would not have been a simple "Excuse me?" It might have come just a hair short of hide-able.
Thanks for the reassurance, though.

(11,841 posts)never threaten to blow shit up, never threaten people who post jokes about them. As a matter of fact, they're more likely than not to laugh at the jokes. Not offended by Christmas. The list goes on.
I just dont get it, why???

(6,335 posts)Starting with Babylonians 3000 yrs ago, then the Romans 2000 yrs ago who caused the diaspora to Europe.
Then periodic European "pogroms" of massacres of their settlements when they were blamed for anything bad happening whether they were the cause or not like the Black Death that killed half of Europe in the 1340's.
Then the Germans blamed them for loss of WW1, the rise of communism and various other things causing the Holocaust.

27:25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
This verse shows signs of having been added by early church brass, like the early Popes.
But it's been used for 2,000 years to excuse Christian persecution of Jews.

(56,108 posts)The Jew is the eternal "other." There are various types of anti-Semitism, some it is even deemed acceptable or at least 'understandable.' Even "good" Jews aren't deemed that 'good.' In this case, some are still claiming it wasn't an act of anti-Semitism because Jews weren't killed.
Anti-Semitism rises and falls, but it is always there, sometimes bubbling under the crust just waiting to explode.

(45,251 posts)Whoever is saying shit like that is probably an ever bigger anti-Semite than the asshat shooter.

(56,108 posts)I must admit I was perplexed by that line of thinking. It was as confusing as watching people get mad because he killed "white people" but no Jews (I sometimes read Stormfront, though, well, I won't say it). Supposedly because he was trying to kill Jews but failed to do so, it magically became not anti-Semitic, even his screaming out "Heil Hitler" was simply an expression and didn't indicate anti-Semitism.

(45,251 posts)I once saw someone portray a type of Hitler in some allegorical play whose name I no longer remember. (It was a Boston equivalent of way, way, way off-Broadway.
The character's name in the play was not Hitler, but the audience was supposed to "grok" that the character represented Hitler and anyone like that. And, that is exactly what the actor did to conjure up the Hitler salute in the minds of the audience, an odd little wave.
Let's see. If I intend to kill A, but kill B by mistake, then I never intended to kill A, right?
