TEHRAN, IranIrans supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said an open letter by 47 Republican senators to Irans leaders warning that any nuclear deal with the Obama administration could be reversed was a sign of collapse in political ethics in the U.S.
------
The letter noted that only a congressional vote could approve international treaties and that any executive order signed by President Barack Obama to enforce a nuclear deal could be reversed by his successor in 2017 with the stroke of a pen.
U.S. senators officially announce that when this government leaves, its commitments will become nullified, Mr. Khamenei said. Isnt that the ultimate collapse of political ethics and the disintegration of the U.S. system?
The letter, and Mr. Khameneis response, come at a crucial point for the long-running nuclear talks.

I mean, he could have easily used the missive as a pretext to walk away from the negotiations, and in so doing make his own life a damn slight easier with the hard-line mullahs. And yet, he's sticking with it.
Boner could learn a thing or two from that - how to be the adult in the room, for one.
