32 indicted in massive Colorado marijuana trafficking investigation

Colorado officials have won indictments against 32 people accused of being part of a multimillion-dollar scheme to grow marijuana illegally in Colorado and ship it out of state.

The organization allegedly exported as much as 400 pounds monthly of marijuana grown in Denver warehouses, most commonly to Minnesota. Couriers transported hundreds of thousands of dollars at a time back to Denver, according to the indictment. In sum, the organization is estimated to have made $12 million during its four-year run, the indictment alleges.

The Colorado State Grand Jury handed down the indictment last week, and law enforcement this week began rounding up those who were charged. At least five members of the alleged organization have so far been arrested, according to Denver jail records. But state officials refused to comment on the indictment or the arrests, saying instead that an announcement is planned for Thursday.

"This is still an active investigation at this point," said Carolyn Tyler, a spokeswoman for the Colorado attorney general's office.

Stupid certainly rules in the U.S.

A war against a plant that has never caused the death of a single person.

A war against a plant, that has too numerous to mention, medicinal purposes.

A war against a plant that can feed and clothe humanity.

A war against a plant that could greatly reduce the need for fossil fuels.

A war against a plant that could replace oil based plastics.

The damage the government of the U.S. has done to its citizens because of this miraculous plant in inexcusable.

In the absence of any drug violations, these guys are guilty as hell of tax evasion.

No bank will touch a cannabis business. That, and only cost of product can be deducted as a business expense. Insurance companies that will insure operations are few and far between, and employees are paid in cash. Dispensaries have to make appointments with the IRS to pay their taxes, because they have to do it in cash.

Until the Federal Government releases the Federal regulations - it will be a cash and carry industry, legit or not.

Add in the prison complex, police unions and the alcohol industry and you have a pretty comprehensive listing of all of the industries that have a stake in keeping it illegal.

These 32 people are like the last soldiers to be wounded in a war, on the last day after peace has been scheduled. Some ideologically-driven teabagger is trying to turn back the clock.

What fail.

I hope it causes no consternation, but I'm no attorney, so how would I know ?

Seriously, is that it? Hell, give me a few thousand bucks, a garage, and some electricity, and I can be popping out 10lbs a month in no time, and that's from a single person and a garage. 400lbs is some seriously small change stuff.
