King of Blues B.B. King rushed to hospital with diabetes-related emergency

AMERICAN blues musician B.B. King has been rushed to hospital in Las Vegas due to a diabetes-related emergency.
The blues guitarist has cancelled the remaining eight performances of his current tour after being diagnosed with dehydration and exhaustion.
Kings official website says he fell ill Friday evening during a performance at the House of Blues in Chicago and was evaluated by a doctor.
The end of his tour was to include stops next week at his own B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in New York. His representative told TMZ he was still in a medical care facility near his home as of Monday.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is 89 and has released over 50 albums

(10,998 posts)BBKing is absolutely amazing to hear and see live. He can put you in a trance. I'm grateful to have witnessed him live in small venues a handful of times.

(11,528 posts)I hate to be a downer about this, but he's had health problems for quite some time. This latest episode can't be good. I was never lucky enough to see him perform, but I have many of his CDs and have the greatest respect for his talent.

King was suffering from dehydration stemming from his Type 2 diabetes.

(23,340 posts)I've seen him twice, once in the early 70s, once in the early 90s, and at the last concert he played sitting down.
The first concert had Muddy Waters opening for him, and Muddy was in poor health at that time. Not moving around too much.
