Source: Omaha World Herald

By Joseph Morton

WASHINGTON — The country’s top official on international trade will be in Omaha today to highlight the importance of exports and promote President Barack Obama’s economic agenda.

U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman is making the trip at the invitation of Rep. Brad Ashford, D-Neb.

The ambassador and the congressman plan to visit a family farm in Valley to highlight how selling agricultural products to other countries supports high-paying jobs in the Omaha area.

The Obama administration has been talking up new trade deals currently under negotiation, particularly with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
