(1,254 posts)Have to play it if you want to succeed. It won't be as bad as they try to spin it. Only their right wing base will get into a tizzy over this. Fox must be in an orgasmic state with the impending release of this book. Most voters won't care one way or another. The GOP who screws us DAILY will look ridiculous trying to attack the Clintons while conducting their own sleazy behavior.

In this case, it's the classic "unanswered questions" which have been answered repeatedly.
Someone needs to do a poll and find out how many Republicans believe the impeachment was a total success and Clinton was found guilty and forced from office.

(27,137 posts)The above is a correct example of post hoc ergo propter hoc. Not:
- His examples include a free-trade agreement in Colombia that benefited a major foundation donors natural resource investments in the South American nation, development projects in the aftermath of the Haitian earthquake in 2010, and more than $1 million in payments to Mr. Clinton by a Canadian bank and major shareholder in the Keystone XL oil pipeline around the time the project was being debated in the State Department.
- That seems a little different than a rooster making the sun come up. Your mileage may vary.......

And the GOP will believe anything bad they hear.
The ones that it will effect are the ones in the middle and when the GOP with the help of the media unpack her luggage for her it will indeed look bad.
Jeb will look like a moderate to some of them and the rest probably will not even vote.
Makeing people disgusted with politics is a strategy the GOP can win with.

(25,111 posts)In my personal opinion and seeing how the GOP/RWers/Libertarians operate, it doesn't matter who their final opponent is. If Senator Warren decided to run and won the Democratic primary, all their venom would be focused on her and everything thing from her family past, her birth, and thereon will be brought front and center with non-facts and would be stated as fact by the corporate media, hate radio, and RW social media.
It does not "matter" who it is, the GOP will do their best (and they are good at it) to trash anyone who is not pure as a GOP.
Like Pres O, HRC is not the perfect Liberal candidate. She far from it. But I truly think she will stand with the American people.

The Clintons are hell bent on setting the Democratic Party back another 10 years or so. Again.
And then they wonder why a handful of us don't want to get onboard with this shit.
Along with, you know, stupid right wing smears like saying she continues to support her decision on the Iraq war. And drones. And citizen surveillance, etc.
All true, of course, but an inconvenient smear when brought up for an examination of qualifications.
The conservatives in the Dem Party are going to drag us all down the shit hole with Clinton.
Say goodbye to progress and reform, it's the Clinton show.
History repeats itself.
Thanks to the grammar police who can't seen to tolerate dissent about Clinton, I made some corrections and added one clarification - the word "Again".

The fourth richest man in Ukraine, Pinchuk owns Interpipe Group, a Cyprus-incorporated manufacturer of seamless pipes used in oil and gas sectors.
Newsweek has seen declarations and documents from Ukraine that show a series of shipments from Interpipe to Iran in 2011 and 2012, including railway parts and products commonly used in the oil and gas sectors.
Among a number of high-value invoices for products related to rail or oil and gas, one shipment for $1.8m (1.7m) in May 2012 was for seamless hot-worked steel pipes for pipelines and destined for a city near the Caspian Sea.
Both the rail and oil and gas sectors are sanctioned by the US, which specifically prohibits any single invoice to the Iranian petrochemical industry worth more than $1m.

Nonsensical scandals like Benghazi and the email kerfluffle strike me as
weak tea distractions, substitutes for scrutiny and great in between content for
advertising purposes. Even possibly suitable for inoculating the public with a certain
necessary indifference. If the real dirt behind any of these politicians at the top of the
food chain came to light, we wouldnt hear about domestically.
Why anyone follows a lying media escapes the fuck out of me.

(1,349 posts)Just look at all the bullshit conservative books re: Hill & Bill on Amazon when you type "Hillary Clinton" under the book search.
Half of them are by these wingnuts with their imaginary conspiracies like Whitewater, Travelgate, etc... Peter Schweitzer, Peggy Noonan, Barbar Olsen, Edward Klein, Bob Thiel and so on. Holy shit are there going to be a lot of bullshit anti-Clinton books and stories out over the next couple of years! Of course they'll all just be preaching to the knuckle-dragging Faux watchers and will all end up in the bargain section for $5 after the bulk sales dry up.

(460 posts)Being a front-runner this early is not without its perils. Hillary will do fine, but its tough road.
I would prefer another candidate to Hillary but only because I believe that he would be a great President as well and is "baggage-free". His name is Martin O'Malley. Liberal Irish Catholic. Former Governor of Maryland and Mayor of Baltimore. Very progressive and smart as heck. Look at this clip when he dismantles VA Govenor Bob Mcdonnell on Meet the Press in 2012. Amazing how he makes it look so effortless.
