This isnt your standard commentary on the state of affairs in the United States.Instead, it comes from an 8-year-old, named Peter, who has some strong words for First Lady Michelle Obama. While his major beef starts out with a complaint about school lunches and the limit of one ketchup packet per student, it also touches on a number of other important issues.
We found it on his desk, said his father. He started it in October, but did not finish it until a couple weeks ago. He said he was too angry to go on. Even though the boy attends a private school, making the ketchup limit a non-issue for him, he told his mother he wanted to give a voice to the voiceless. That includes the kids with a pile of fries and only some ketchup residue left on their trays. In the letter, he says the ketchup rule is taking away from our patriotism toward America. He also weighs in on the Middle East and Syria, while suggesting the president needs to work on his speeches."
Heres the full text of his letter: Dear Michelle Obama, My name is Peter. I am eight years old. I love studying history of the U.S.A. I have enjoyed learning about the great choices the USA has made
And then their was your husbands election. I think you should rethink your idea that takes us to one ketchup packet per meal. I feel it is taking away from our patriotism toward America. I also think you should stop doing nothing and go send some troops to the Middle East. I also think your husband needs to work on his speeches. He also disappointed millions of Americans by not bombing Syria. If you do not know thousands of peoples homes are destroyed by ISIS in the Middle East. You should also get the UN to send troops to Ukraine. Also may I ask you, is the White House comfortable?
Thank you for your time and consideration Signed, A concerned 8 year old citizen, Peter

(14,337 posts)No, it not for dirty trays (commercial dishwashers). It isn't really for health reasons either. Kids take handfuls of them, use a few, and the rest go in the garbage. It is wasteful and a money issue.
We always told them take one or two packets, and if you need more, you can always go back and get more.

(23,946 posts)Or sarcasm...in which case it makes sense because the letter of an 8 year old is identical to actual adult Republican Party ideology and beliefs.

(18,791 posts)I love all the outrage about this not being in the correct area, that it's not late breaking, blah, blah, blah...
If it's bogus...please prove it.
It sounds to crazy too be honest and true but it would be great to find it came from the parents or that they forced the kid to write it or that the "dad" doesn't even have kids.
