CLEVELAND, Ohio — A mission worker from Summit County who helped run a home for boys in Honduras is charged with sexually molesting three children who lived in the home.

Corey Bryant, 25, of Norton, was arrested Wednesday after he admitted to a Department of Homeland Security agent that he molested the boys while they slept in a bed with him, according to an affidavit filed in federal court in Cleveland.

The abuse took place between 2011 and 2014, and the boys were between 9 and 15 years old, the affidavit states. He is charged with three counts of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor in foreign places.

Bryant lived in Honduras during those years, doing humanitarian work for Breaking Chains Honduras, an Oklahoma-based Christian missionary group that runs a homeless ministry in Tegucigalpa, the nation's capital. He taught at Interamerican School, a bilingual K-9 private school in the same city.

Government worker from San Antonio had sex with a minor in Honduras
Posted, 2015-04-30

A civilian Defense Department employee from San Antonio has pleaded guilty to one count of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor in a foreign place, for an illegal relationship with a young teen in Honduras.

William Curry McGrath, 55, entered the guilty plea Tuesday before U.S. District Judge Lee H. Rosenthal in Houston, where McGrath was arrested after his return from Central America in October 2014, the Justice Department announced this week.

According to admissions made in connection with his guilty plea, McGrath was the director of the Network Enterprise Center at the Soto Cano Air Base in Comayagua, Honduras, from December 2012 through March 2014. McGrath admitted that while stationed in Honduras, he met a 13 year-old girl and began a sexual relationship with her. He also admitted that he gave the girl money, gifts and other items of value in exchange for sexual acts.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Aug. 6. The investigation was conducted by the FBI in Houston, and he is being prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Justice Department to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Norton Man Busted On Fed Sex Charges Featured

Written by Edward L. Esposito

During the search of his residence, HSI special agents seized two thumb drives, two cell phones and a laptop computer. The devices will undergo computer forensic examination. The federal charges are the product of an ongoing probe initiated after an anonymous tip was received December 2014 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Tip Line website. The investigation is being handled by ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). HSI Transnational Criminal Investigative Unit, HSI Tegucigalpa, and the Norton Police Department assisted in the investigation.

The federal prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael A. Sullivan. A charges is only charge an allegation and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government's burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

This investigation was conducted under HSI's Operation Predator, an international initiative to protect children from sexual predators. Since the launch of Operation Predator in 2003, HSI has arrested more than 10,000 individuals for crimes against children, including the production and distribution of online child pornography, traveling overseas for sex with minors, and sex trafficking of children. In fiscal year 2014, more than 2,300 individuals were arrested by HSI special agents under this initiative and more than 1000 victims identified or rescued.

authority over children. They wanted to be coaches, teachers, preachers, day care workers, etc. These jobs all deal with the exact people they target.

This is a real problem because until they are caught it is very hard to tell the good from the bad.

I also know that churches sometimes send these people to foreign missions because they do not want to deal with the scandal. I have actually seen that happen.
