Colorado woman who stole fetus stabbed victim with lava lamp: prosecutors

DENVER (Reuters) - A Colorado woman who police say admitted cutting the fetus from a pregnant stranger stabbed her victim first with shards of glass from a broken lava lamp before performing a crude Cesarean section, court documents showed on Friday.

Dynel Catrece Lane, 34, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, felony assault and unlawful termination of a pregnancy stemming from the attack in March on Michelle Wilkins in the town of Longmont, 30 miles north of Denver.

The 26-year-old Wilkins, who was seven months pregnant, survived the assault, but her unborn baby girl died.

In a brief filed ahead of a preliminary hearing set for next week, prosecutors said Lane lured the victim to her home under the pretext of selling her maternity and baby clothing through an online ad.

...and there's a lot of sickness around. This belief that HAVING something (a baby, some money, a Republican president....) will make everything better has eaten our society, and many of our souls like a cancer. This woman thought this baby would make everything better, so she was willing to kill for it. And she killed the baby. That's no worse than people like the Koch brothers, willing to kill millions, willing to bring down a great country for what? They don't even know. If they were poor, people could laugh at them on tv and call them Hoarders. They're really no different from the Collyer Brothers.

The Koch brothers are a bunch of sick puppies. Their father was an abusive monster who was one of the founders of the John Birch Society. If they were not rich, they would be laughed at for their wacko ideas. The old fable about the Emperor having no clothes is accurate to this day.

My heart goes out to Michelle Wilkins. After surviving the horrific attack and murder of her baby- she has to now read 'fetus' headlines.
