3. I've observed in most cases that being a member of a police force

elevates the individual cop to a point where the cop thinks that being a cop takes prcedence before race, religion and humanity, and where loyalty to his fellow cop is paramount to anything else. It's not a race thing at all, IMHO.

Much the same way a gang member feels about his acceptance into a gang.
