Poll: Bernie Sanders gains ground in New Hampshire

Source: CNN

Hillary Clinton may still hold a big lead in New Hampshire, but it is next-door-neighbor Sen. Bernie Sanders that makes the biggest jump in a WMUR Granite State Poll out Wednesday.

Sanders, an independent from Vermont, drew support from 13% of likely Democratic primary voters, according to the poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center before Sanders' announced his candidacy for president last month. The senator's support doubled from a February poll by the same group that found 6% of Democratic primary voters supported the independent.

Clinton is still the overwhelming favorite in the state with 51% support. And despite repeatedly saying she isn't running for president, Sen. Elizabeth Warren garnered 20% support from those polled.

Now, as any Sanders supporter will tell you, these are early "name recognition" polls and should be discounted.....right?

She'll either endorse Hillary Clinton or stay neutral.

That's how we arrive to the conclusion that most Warren voters would choose someone other than Hillary as their second choice.

9. He will. Don't worry. He's probably close to 25% if E.W. isn't a choice in the poll.

Expecting Sanders to get 2/3 of E.W. votes isn't unrealistic. I believe that's probably conservative.

That's great for this early in the race. He'll go up from here. Enough to beat HRC? I hope.

10. You are repeating a myth

The myth that Warren's voters don't have Hillary as a second choice.

Hillary would get most of Warren's votes, and any assertion to the contrary is assuming that the average Democrat thinks like a DUer.

12. Not necessarily,

I for one supported Bernie and EW from early on.

I agree however, that many Warren supporters
may insist on voting for a woman, no matter
what she may promise.

13. I said it was likely. I didn't say it was definite. And again IN MY OPINION

2/3 E.W. voters going for Sanders is fairly conservative.

You are stating your opinion too. Bully for you.

E.W. supporters have chosen E.W. over Hillary for a reason. I was/am an E.W. supporter. I'm now for Bernie. I'm far from alone.

We'll see who's correct. I could be wrong. But, so could you.
