Nugent says he's insulted by concert cancellation

Source: MSN.com

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Ted Nugent says he is insulted by the cancellation of his planned concert at an Army base over his comments about President Obama.

Commanders at the Fort Knox base in Kentucky nixed Nugent's segment of a June concert after the rocker and conservative activist said at a recent National Rifle Association meeting that he would be dead or in jail by this time next year if Obama is re-elected.

Nugent told The Associated Press his words were not intended as a threat against the president.

Nugent said he had received messages of support from troops and noted that the Secret Service had met with him and closed its case about the remarks earlier this month.

Typical, now he's the victim. He makes terroristic threats against the President of the United States and then wonders why he's not welcome on a military base.

Apr 2012

Nugent, 63, was stumping for Romney at the National Rifle Association convention in Missouri when he blasted Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and others as "criminals" of a "vile, evil, America-hating administration."

"If you don't know that our government is wiping its a(expletive) with the constitution, you're living under a rock," Nugent said in videotaped comments that have gone viral on the Internet.

"I'll tell you this right now: if Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," he said.

"We are patriots, we are brave hearts. We need to ride into that battlefield, and chop their heads off in November. Any questions?"
