Freddie Gray case: Defense attorneys call for prosecutor to be dismissed

(CNN)Attorneys for the six Baltimore police officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray want the case dismissed or State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby's office to be taken off the case.

A lengthy motion filed in Baltimore City District Court cites a variety of concerns, including conflicts of interest and questions about the office's independent investigation.

Are they afraid she'll be too zealous in her job? She owes the victim, and the public, at least that much.

If the judge agrees they get a different prosecutor, if not they get a basis for appeal if their client is convicted.

Two individuals wrongly, or at least with the wrong names, then she is really screwing up, going too fast, and being unforgivably sloppy. You do not charge anyone, even a cop, with murder and make a mistake as to identity. Her future just plummeted.

In other words, she doesn't have a conflict in favor of the cops like the other so-called prosecutors.

They want a white prosecutor who will go soft on the defendants so as to not make the police look bad. Unfortunately we all know how this is going to end. Kabuki theater at its finest.
