Jeb Bush skipping Iowa straw poll

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)Jeb Bush is skipping the widely watched Iowa straw poll in favor of a conservative forum in Georgia on the same day, a spokesman confirmed to CNN, sparking outrage from the Iowa Republican Party chairman.

Iowa GOP Chairman Jeff Kaufmann tweeted his displeasure, noting the conflicting event -- the Red State gathering, a conservative confab scheduled for Aug. 6-9 -- runs for four days and other GOP presidential contenders will be attending both events.

"We hope Governor Bush rethinks his decision and realizes that grassroots will only grow in Iowa if he waters them," Kaufmann tweeted.

He added: "We don't buy this excuse and neither will Iowans."

"We" all know this, it's on the record:

"Economic Statecraft" = it's how the Secretary of State makes other nations safe for people like the Koch Brothers.

She warns against "state capitalism", says private boards and investors offer more transparency and accountability:

"Now, state-owned or state-supported enterprises... ...often lack the transparency and accountability that come with private boards and investors."

And finally, the resurgence of state capitalism, a challenge at once economic and strategic. Now, state-owned or state-supported enterprises are not necessarily problematic in all cases. But they do often lack the transparency and accountability that come with private boards and investors. And then, diplomatic challenges arise when states abuse their economic advantage to bully their neighbors or box out competitors, like when we see countries cut off gas flows in the middle of winter over a political disagreement. So, the State Department, working with seven other U.S. Government agencies, launched a comprehensive study on state capitalism. And in the coming weeks, we should see a final report with detailed recommendations for how we engage on the challenges posed.

When Hillary is the nominee, 'we' will keep on that "Koch Brothers' Favorite" message, right?

Otherwise, it would just be a bunch of inflammatory hype.

Stay the course...

Bookmarked.

but I think it may be for an additional reason. People have short memories, politically. But it has been TOO short a time since he said he would invade Iraq, the way his brother did, even knowing what we now know. That will hurt him, at least in the short term.

Most people, even conservatives, think the war in Iraq was a mistake.

We need to keep those comments front and center. People should not be allowed to forget he said that. People should not be allowed to accept his excuse that he "misunderstood" the question.

I do think he will be the nominee. He is terrible, but he is the least clownish of all the clowns in the clown car.
