Governor Bobby Jindal Forms 2016 Exploratory Committee
Source: NBC News
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Monday formed an exploratory committee to assist him in deciding whether to seek the Republican Party nomination for president.
"For some time now, my wife Supriya and I have been thinking and praying about whether to run for the Presidency of our great nation," Jindal said. "We'll make a final decision in June, after the legislative session in Louisiana ends."
"If I run, my candidacy will be based on the idea that the American people are ready to try a dramatically different direction. Not a course correction, but a dramatically different path," he added.
Jindal has made a number of visits to the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. If he runs, he'll enter an already crowded GOP field.

Press Release:
Speaking about the committee launch, Governor Jindal said:
"For some time now, my wife Supriya and I have been thinking and praying about whether to run for the Presidency of our great nation. We'll make a final decision in June, after the legislative session in Louisiana ends.
"If I run, my candidacy will be based on the idea that the American people are ready to try a dramatically different direction. Not a course correction, but a dramatically different path.
"President Obama has started to redefine the American Dream, turning it into the European Nightmare. Because of this, I believe our country is in serious trouble and that the hour is late for America. Economic collapse is much closer to the door than people realize, our culture is decaying at a rapid rate, and our standing in a dangerous world is at an all-time low.
"However, the problems caused by 7 years of weak leadership and mistakes in the Obama administration can be corrected. But they wont be fixed by just sending Republicans to Congress. It will only be fixed by a President who is willing to make hard decisions and who has the ideas to change our country's future.
"While other Republican leaders are talking about change, I've published detailed plans to repeal and replace Obamacare, rebuild America's Defenses, make America energy independent, and reform Education for our nation's children.
"So today Im announcing the launch of an exploratory committee, which will help me to decide whether to seek our party's nomination."

(62,406 posts)no health care, no housing for the poor, police state to protect the rich, privatizing public schools, making being poor a crime, crushing unions, arming everyone, people starving in the streets, rounding up immigrants and sending them back, more prisons.
Now there is an American Dream.
As opposed to that European nightmare of health care for all, housing for all, education free through college, less discrepancy in income, decent public transportation systems, few wars...........
Truly a nightmare.

(239 posts)The GOP would never elect him as President.
As George Allen says, they consider him a 'macaca'.
He must have been popular in his state, though.

Jindal singled out a $140 million appropriation for the U.S. Geological Survey as an example of questionable government spending during the GOP response to President Obama's address to Congress Tuesday night.
The governor, a rising Republican star, questioned why "something called 'volcano monitoring' " was included in the nearly $800 billion economic stimulus bill Obama signed earlier this month. Video Watch "Is Jindal prime-time ready?" »
"Instead of monitoring volcanoes, what Congress should be monitoring is the eruption of spending in Washington," Jindal said.
But Marianne Guffanti, a volcano researcher at the U.S. Geological Survey, said, "We don't throw the money down the crater of the volcano and watch it burn up."
