Dennis Hastert Hires Thomas C. Green as His Lawyer

J. Dennis Hastert is scheduled to be arraigned in federal court in Chicago on Tuesday, and he has hired a powerful and experienced Washington lawyer to represent him.

The lawyer, Thomas C. Green, with the firm Sidley & Austin, confirmed Monday that he would be handling the case of Mr. Hastert, the former speaker of the House who is charged with violating bank-reporting laws related to large cash withdrawals.

Mr. Green declined to comment on the charges.

According to his biography, Mr. Green spent years defending “members of Congress and other public officials in responding to some of the most well-known and significant federal and congressional investigations of official misconduct.”

... and Justice is done, the more $$$ he spends the better! "Powerful and experienced" Washington lawyers put a lot of money back into the economy via a very high-dollar overhead.
