MOBILE, Alabama -- The Mobile County Sheriff's Office says that they have turned over evidence to federal investigators involving a Mobile missionary accused of child molestation in Honduras, WKRG reports.

William James “Will” Atkinson was arrested in February at the international airport in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, as he attempted to flee the country, according to the Spanish-language Honduran newspaper La Prensa.

He was accused of raping two children and other violations at a Honduran orphanage run by his family, according to the newspaper report.

WKRG reports that Atkinson was released from jail in April after posting a $26,000 bond. He is not allowed to have contact with any alleged victims or with the orphanage, the report says.
