Patrick Lanzo, Georgia Bar Owner, Calls Obama 'N*****' On Road Sign Again

Source: Huffington Post

Georgia bar owner Patrick Lanzo of Paulding County has made habit of claiming he's not racist, an argument that becomes harder to make each time he decides to display the n-word on a large roadside sign outside his establishment, the Georgia Peach Oyster Bar.

Lanzo's latest message reads, "I do not support the n***** in the White House." He recently told a local reporter that the offensive wording was not meant to be racist.

"I say just because you're offended by it doesn't mean you don't have the right to say something just the opposite,” Lanzo said, according to a report from Atlanta's Fox 5. “I don't feel bad about anything whatsoever. Therefore, they can go out and put their own sign in their own yard and I will not be offended.”

Controversy is nothing new to Lanzo, who seems to bask in the negative attention each time he posts a new inflammatory message.

I wholeheartedly agree that regionalism has no place on DU. For us, all any of our native idiots have to do is mention (jokingly or not) that they'd like us to secede. Well, look out! Suddenly there are scads of DUers that agree with that sentiment. Never mind what our seceding would do to the nation's economy.

I get the feeling that for some DUers, the Civil War never ended...

I live in the same county as that idiot. When you insult Georgia, or even just this county, you're also insulting me and my family. Hatred won't change peoples minds, no matter which side it's coming from. Not everyone here is like that, and in fact he's in a very small minority which is getting smaller.

At the first city he reached on his march to the Atlantic he found the people starving despite the fact that they lived in the breadbasket of the South. As Confederate money had become worthless, the urban citizens were finding it difficult to buy food from the plantation owners (whose war it really was). So Sherman sent his men out to strip the plantations and feed the southerners in the cities.

In newspaper reports, letters, diaries, etc of the time, many of these southerners hailed Sherman. The Union army was cheered as they left these cities to continue their march.

But the plantation owners had a lot to complain about. They were the leading figures. And they were the ones writing the histories, not the owners of Mom & Pop stores in the towns. In addition, the Confederate generals and politicians put out massive amounts of memoirs trying to shift the blame and figure out how the vaunted Normans with their Celtic allies could have lost to a war to the inferior Anglo-Saxon.

*Note* the march through South Carolina was another thing altogether. Sherman did level South Carolina in punishment for starting the war.
