Trump defends inflammatory comments, asks 'Who is doing the raping?'
Source: cnn
On Wednesday, Trump, who is a Republican presidential candidate, told Lemon he was pulling his facts from a Fusion article.

"Well if you look at the statistics of people coming, you look at the statistics on rape, on crime, on everything coming in illegally into this country it's mind-boggling!" he told Lemon, in a clip previewed on CNN's "Situation Room."
"If you go to Fusion, you will see a story: About 80% of the women coming in, you know who owns Fusion? Univision! Go to Fusion and pick up the stories on rape. It's unbelievable when you look at what's going on. So all I'm doing is telling the truth," Trump said.
Lemon replied that the press stories are about women being raped, but not about criminals coming across the border.
"Well, somebody's doing the raping, Don! I mean somebody's doing it! Who's doing the raping? Who's doing the raping?" he asked

(100,133 posts)I'm here to say there are a lot of white Democrats, even among people my age. Women prefer Democratic policies. Millennials are more liberal, but need to be shown the party that represents them is the Democratic Party. Minorities will soon have to be called something else because they will shortly be in the majority, and they tend to be Democratic.
That leaves how many old, bitter, white men to vote for the GOP, which looks more retrograde, racist, and loony by the day?
Now all we Dems have to do is make our policies clear, remove the many barriers to voting erected by the GOP, register Democrats, and GOTV.

(1,986 posts)Headlined, Is rape the price to pay for migrant women chasing the American Dream? the 2014 piece, written by Erin Siegal McIntyre and Deborah Bonello, found that a staggering 80 percent of Central American girls and women crossing Mexico en route to the United States are raped along the way. According to Fusions reporting, perpetrators can be coyotes, other migrants, bandits, or even government authorities.
The article highlights the horrific plight that female migrants face during their journeys north to the United States. The authors quote one lawyer who has worked helping women along the Mexico-Guatemala border as saying, [These migrants] know the price to pay for getting to the United States. The price is being sexually violated.

coyote (plural coyotes)
1. Canis latrans, a species of canine native to North America. [quotations ▼]
2. A smuggler of illegal immigrants across the land border from Mexico into the United States of America.
Pretty sure the article means definition 2. Pretty sure. But don't tell Trump about the coyote rapists. He may want to exterminate all dogs.

No matter how many people have pointed out to him that what he said was not only insensitive and racist, but not even factually correct, he continues to state that he has the truth on his side.
The fact that he has climbed to second place on the Republican polls proves once again that the GOP is populated mostly by ignorant, bigoted and racist fools.

Rape is considered a violent crime, along with murder, voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault.
Now, you really have to compare the crime statistics to our racial demographics.
White - 63.7%
Black - 12.2%
Hispanic/Latino - 16.4%
Other - 7.7%
Hispanics are committing about 10% more violent crimes than one would expect, based on their % of the population.

(14,180 posts)And maybe I just need to be "talked down from the ledge."
It seems that with every passing day, his poll numbers are growing. I'm afraid that the more he jacks his jaw and drives sponsors and others away in droves, that will just reinforce his popularity among those who think the "lamestream media" and other "lefties" are just out to get him because he's obviously "speaking the truth".
I see him as another Palin, only difference being he is smarter in that he knows how to manipulate the spotlight to keep his ugly mug front and center. The fact that he is currently second and will most likely be at the debate is galling, and to me somewhat frightening.
I hope he fades fast, or gets bored with the whole thing and moves on. But something tells me he may be around for awhile as the sheeple rally around their new "hero".

His companies have gone through Chapter 11 bankruptcy 4 times.
That ridiculous hair.
His long history of racism.
He was sent to a military school when he was 13 and graduated in 1964, which means he should have been drafted. But he got the deferments for going to college.
He lies about his net worth. Forbes says he's worth a not too shabby $4 Billion. But The Donald says he's worth twice that. He was also investigated by the SEC and settled out of court.
He's a litigious asshole. He sued Bill Maher for saying his father was an orangutan. Now he says he's going to sue Univision for $500 Million even though the contract was only worth $13 Million.
He says "China is our enemy" but all of his Trump line of clothes at Macy's were made overseas, including China. He also imported Chinese building materials like drywall to build his casinos and other real estate developments, because it saved him money.
And those are just the things that I can think of off the top of my head.

"His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives;never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it."
Can you imagine what the rest of the world would think of the U.S. if we elected a bufoon like Trump (or Cruz or anyone else in the clown car)?
