MILWAUKEE, May 4 (Reuters) - Democratic candidates vying for a shot at ousting Governor Scott Walker from office in a June recall election aimed their attacks at the Republican incumbent rather than each other during a debate on Friday.

"This state has been at war for the last 16 months," said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, the frontrunner in the primary to select a Democratic candidate to oppose Walker.

"I will end the civil war in the state of Wisconsin," said Barrett. "I will restore trust in the governor's office and heal the wounds that have deeply divided the state."

The winner of the Democratic Primary on Tuesday will face Walker in a special election on June 5.

Walker generally refuses to talk to anyone who disagrees with him so I am sure he does not want to debate, but I am sure Tom Barrett or whoever the nominee is will be calling for a debate. Walker can either show he is scared and run away which could cost him votes or he can debate and watch the John Doe issue pressed on him hard and being forced to respond under pressure. I hope that debate does happen because I want to watch Walker melt down on stage.

Our main objective is to send the Kochboy and his slimy associates packing.

with how they avoided mangling each other. We certainly don't want to go into the election with a candidate who has been badly wounded in a nasty primary battle. (However much fun it was to see the Republicans doing this to each other on the national stage.)

One minute responses to questions. Not nearly enough time to develop ideas. The other forums that have been held have given more time for real discussion. It's too bad this is the only one that was televised.

Vinehout is still my first choice. I think she's the one most ready to take on Walker, and then to begin the rebuilding of our State.
