Bill Cosby Dropped By Talent Agency CAA

Bill Cosby has been dumped by his talent agency, CAA, and is currently without representation, according to Deadline Hollywood.
According to the website, Creative Artists Agency actually cut ties with him late last year -- well before the Associated Press obtained previously sealed court documents in which the 77-year-old admitted he bought Quaaludes with the intention of giving them to women he intended to have sex with, and admitted to giving a sedative to at least one woman.
The agency, who represented the actor and comedian since 2012, remained tight-lipped about the split, only telling Deadline, "We do not represent (Cosby) at this time.
Cosby, who has now been accused of sexual assault by more than two dozen women, has never been charged with a crime. Additionally, the statute of limitations on most of the allegations has already expired, however, several of Cosby's accusers are currently suing the actor for defamation.

HE INTENDED TO RAPE THEM - the man is a SERIAL RAPIST
Rape is to sex as getting hit in the head with a frying pan is to cooking.

(20,185 posts)He was testifying under oath and they were trying to get him to confess. He confessed to using drugs to have sex with women, but LEGALLY, he was confessing to rape. I doubt he would had admitted to drugging the women if they used the word RAPE. He confessed. He's finished.
Being dropped by his agent is HUGE.

(1,554 posts)I really loved Bill Cosby growing up.
It reminds me of when I learned that my favorite priest from high school, who married my daughter and brother-in-law, and performed my Nana's funeral was sexually abusing one of my best friends for over a decade.
I'm pissed and sad at the same time.
May he rot in hell, and hopefully jail!

(81,238 posts)I grew up with him, too. I still have several of his comedy albums, which I played to death. I feel the same way. I think there's a big sense of betrayal in there, too.

(14,093 posts)He was always a huge fan, and I remember how happy he was to receive it.
This whole thing is just depressing, as so many grew up with him.
But rather than feel sorry for ourselves about damaged childhoods, we should all speak out for the victims at every turn.

(30,736 posts)I remember years ago hearing he was a billionaire.
Even if he never works again, he won't be hurting. I don't think anyone is going to be able to get justice, or financial remuneration.

(26,291 posts)I mean the list of people who walk away from a crime because they are rich is pretty damn long.
There was Sam Waltons daughter who walked away from killing a women, the DA didnt even prosecute (wonder how much he cost her to buy off) and then there was Bush and Cheney not to mention.

(53,776 posts)working, why he needs an agent?
Must be because his wife can't stand him being in the house anymore. Well, maybe not. She must have known something was up so she's kind of complicit in it. And I'm sure many other's, once close, have distanced themselves from him so he doesn't have anything else to do with himself but try to carry on with a career that he can't seem to comprehend is in disgraceful tatters.
I understand all his sexual sickness has not been a secret to many for years in the entertainment world especially among comics (glad to see Tina Fey outted him on "SNL" in '05 and '09 on "30 Rock" . He's been protected for so many years by enablers in the entertainment industry, some probably doing similar things wonder when all of that is going to come out. It needs to.
And what about NBC, bigwigs there had to know. But he saved that network with his show back in the '80s so they enabled and looked the other way (one ex-employee recently came out and stated that he quit the network because it was his job to escort young women into Cosby's dressing room).
It's been weird to watch Cosby's arrogance and career unravel over the last few months and to see him trying to ignore it and still try to perform as if all this stuff hasn't really happen and people don't know what's he's done.
He's in the most blatant state of denial that I've ever witnessed. He goes on stage and expects people, audiences, to go along with him in his denial. Even interviewers are not to mention it, to not question him.
He's been getting away with this stuff for so many years he himself can't seem to fathom what's happened as his Dr. Huxtable/Jekyll character has been revealed to be really Mr. Hyde.

(1,986 posts)There is always someone willing to represent a performer that has any potential for making money. He just needs an agency that doesn't care about its "image."

(12,655 posts)i am sure lots of potential agents are thinking about that.
the guy is a lightning rod. they have options that are less controversial
also, will anyone pay at this point to see him? dunno about that anymore

(14,093 posts)in knowing that this caught up to him before he checked out, unlike Jimmy Saville.
Cosby has always been an egotistical, condescending, self-righteous asshole.
Seeing his career collapse and knowing his legacy is completely and utterly destroyed is a massive punishment to a guy like that. Not as severe as it should be, and I hope somehow he ends up facing charges still, but at least he doesn't get to escape the accountability of public opinion during his lifetime.

(18,632 posts)It's shocking and horrible that he's been doing this all these years but it's also depressing.
I loved his comedy and always thought he was a force for good. Someone who showed the warmth and humanity in all of us no matter what color our skin. Now we know it was all a front. He was actually an uncontrollable monster underneath and one that could even be used by racists to exemplify racial stereotypes. It's just too depressing.
It makes me feel that we can't trust anyone no matter how decent and admirable they seem.

(12,383 posts)he was quite attractive, not to mention wealthy and thus desirable to many women. He could have had sex 24/7.
Rape is an act of power and violence, not sex. His pleasure was in performing a forcible act on a victim. It's a shame that sex has to associated with this crime which always has the connotation of "he said, she said."
What if he had drugged them and beat them? Would that have brought more sympathy for the victim?
Beauregard
(376 posts)He enjoyed having sex with unconscious people. Not my cup of tea.

Saying this is a sickness, while true, does not absolve him of responsibility.
