Videos of Gardena police shooting of unarmed men are made public

Videos that the city of Gardena fought to keep secret show police officers fatally shooting a man who appeared confused at their orders and did not appear to pose an immediate threat. Police wounded a second man.

A federal judge on Tuesday ordered the release of the videos, saying the public had an interest in seeing the recordings after the city settled a lawsuit over the shooting for $4.7 million.

Gardena immediately sought an order from the appellate court to stop the district court from enforcing its order and releasing the videos. A judge with the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals granted the request. By then, The Times had obtained the videos from the district court and posted them on YouTube and on its website.

I'm surprised this Los Angeles Federal District Court Judge (His Honor Stephen V. Wilson) decided to release the video in this case, as His Honor is established as the party who covered up our litigation against Mitt Romney.

The video clearly shows that it's just kids, one on a bike and there's confusion in the orders.
(Seems as if one officer was worried there was a gun in the hat - and shot the kid to death).

Gardena Police Chief Ed Medrano released a statement late Tuesday describing the shooting as “tragic for all involved.
“We have thoroughly reviewed our response and have initiated new training, including the tactical use of cover techniques to slow down fast-moving events,” he said.

Tragic for those shot. Tragic the cops got caught?
Fast moving? The guys showed no threat, basically just standing there.
