White House rally against Iran deal featuring Cruz crashed by protesters

WASHINGTON–Sen. Ted Cruz, one of the Senate’s most adamant opponents of the Iran nuclear deal, sparred with protesters Thursday afternoon at a rally in front of the White House.

Cruz, a presidential candidate, spoke at a rally organized by the Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee in Lafayette Park, just a few steps outside the north side of the White House.

The senator rehashed his previous criticisms of the deal–namely the danger of a nuclear Iran, the billions of dollars in lifted sanctions Iran could use to fund terrorists and the four American hostages left languishing in prison.

“Without exaggeration, the Obama administration will become the world’s leading sponsor and financier of radical Islamic terrorism,” said Cruz, according to an NBC video. “You cannot have peace with a lunatic zealot who wants to murder you.”

Howard's group has barnstormed the country, holding rallies to support the contraception-subverting Hobby Lobby Supreme Court decision, fighting for state laws to define a six-week old fetus as a legal "person," and advancing other goofy right-wing causes. The Americans United for Israel conference held in Washington, DC, last week—an End Times theology event that has served as a stage for thousands of Christian Evangelicals to cheer the brutal Israeli invasion of Gaza—has been heavily promoted by Concerned Women for America. As I pointed out in a recent column for VICE, Jody Hice—an activist who just locked up the GOP primary in Georgia's tenth congressional district—was endorsed by CWA. 2. At least Cruz is being honest....

He thinks that "Iran" is a "lunatic zealot who wants to murder" us. He apparently can't distinguish between rhetoric and actions. And, of course, "we can't have peace." So he is explicitly saying that the Cruz admin's policy would be war with Iran.

What a fucking loser-ass dweeb.

Fortunately, he's doing lousy in the polls. WE'll most likely have to fight off chickenhawk Scott Walker.
