Family’s attorney says Seneca teen shot from behind
Source: Greenville Online
A lawyer representing the family of a Seneca teenager who was shot by police Sunday night said the autopsy shows that Zachary Hammond was shot from behind and his car was not moving, contrary to police reports that the car veered toward the officer during a drug sting.
Eric Bland, a Columbia attorney hired by Hammonds parents, said he has requested the state Attorney General to call for a statewide grand jury investigation into the incident.
It is clearly, clearly from the back, Bland said after viewing pictures of the bullet wounds at the coroners office Wednesday. It is physically impossible for him to be trying to flee or run over the officer that shot him.

A coroner is no where near the same as a medical examiner. I hope the family got an independent autopsy. A coroner could be a veterinarian like they have in Missouri who takes on that responsibility in small rural towns. If the coroner is saying he was shot in the front and the attorney is saying he was shot in the back, that is troubling. He could have been shot in the back and it exited out the front too.
