The Iowa State Fair wont allow Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to give children free rides on his helicopter on fairgrounds, but the real estate developer has secured a nearby location.
The helicopter will take off from a parking lot outside the fair in Des Moines, campaign state chairman Chuck Laudner told CNN on Friday, adding that Trump may hop on a few rides as well. CNN previously reported that the Sikorsky is one of three that he owns, seats 12 people comfortably, including the pilot.
Trump will arrive in the $7 million helicopter before holding a press event. Despite Trumps previous public announcement, his campaign expressed safety concerns about the event becoming so well attended that landing the aircraft could be a challenge.
The helicopter has already arrived in the area. It took three refueling stops to get it here and flew at an altitude of 2400 feet across the county, according to a source familiar with the travel plans.

Then he answered his own question. He said Christie could volunteer to be the the bouncy house.

(50,562 posts)If he bought it used from an oil company he needed to have it completely overhauled. Those guys use the hell out of equipment, and they use Chinooks for flying crews to offshore oil platforms. So let's see...$12 million to buy the airframe, another $12 million to the mechanics...by the time he was done he might have been better off getting a zero-hour one.

(50,562 posts)War story follows: When I was working at Home Depot a guy came in to buy some 8-foot 2x4s. I was selling them for...I don't remember but let's say $2 apiece. The customer wanted a small amount of them - less than 50, I remember that. And he absolutely would not buy them from us unless we gave him a discount. Home Depot doesn't give discounts, so the guy left all pissed off. A couple weeks later he came back and I asked him if he ever got his 2x4s. He did, so I asked how much. Turns out he paid more with the "discount" he got than he would have just buying them from me.
Moral of this story: The very rich will spend more money than they need to just to "take advantage" of a seller. Trump seems very much like this kind of a guy. If he would have bought a new aircraft he would probably have spent less in toto on it than he did on this used one, because new ones are ready to use when you get them.

https://s.yimg.com/fz/api/res/1.2/ntkthpv54c3RweyWfsSDwg--/YXBwaWQ9c3JjaGRkO2g9NTMxO3E9OTU7dz04MDA-/Great rides and great fans at the fair. What's it all about ? , is it about watching Jeb Bush eat a hot dog ?
No it's not about watching Jeb Bush eat a hot dog, Jeb Bush is a hot dog , No I say no it's about the kids ,it's about the family and the kids . Those party fruit cake's that come out to be seen ,to show they are there with you, everybody comes out to the fair . But what's it really about ? It's about the kids, they don't vote ,and political commercials as seen on tv do not entertain the kids ,but they don't vote so they don't count ,they do though because their parents do ,so does grand-pa and grand ma. So they say hi to the kids ,maybe use the old political trick kiss the baby for a photo shoot. What's it really all about ? They see opportunity, they see really really great crowds ,they see votes moving around in great masses, they see rides for the kids that swing. Swing rides ,swing votes. But what's it really all about ?
It's about good time thats what it's about , waste of money they think . They think showing what good times are is a waste of political capital,It's more fun watching Jeb Bush eat a hot dog , but it isn't though ,it isn't, and he's over weight anyway but I won't say that because it isn't a very nice thing to say.So they watch him eat it and take pictures and they expect you to watch him eat it and they expect you to eat it, eat that? I mean why would anybody in their right mind eat that ? They do though, they just eat it. But they are tired of it , it doesn't fill anymore, that's what the voters are saying , but old dogs can't be taught nor do they want anything new. Change to them is like a bone you toss down to a dog.Does that add up ? No it doesn't add up but the Gop machine keeps cranking it out the same old way every time. And it just keeps getting worse. They just keep short changing the nation ,selling this great nation short. But that's politics this is the fair,.
Really though ,it's all about good times. That's what the show is all about.! Kids like rides ,parents love to see smiling happy kids ,enthusiastic ,fun loving. Great times at a really really great event. How is watching Jeb Bush eat a hot dog add anything to a really great event ,? One thing I can tell you ,hot dogs are pretty cheap. Maybe that's what it's all about to them.
But that's not what it's all about.
Cooperations put on summertime activities ,summer outings ,it all for the kids ,and the corporation's make gains by boosting moral in the work force on every level in it. But they have to spend some capital ,but it's worth the expenditure, the kids are worth it ,believe that.
I know this is a democratic place here, even if I can't convince you to support me, at the very least I can encourage you to stay tuned ,and if you do I promise you great entertainment !
Donald here, it's up ,up and away !
