Nazi gold train 'found in Poland'
Source: BBC
Two people in Poland say they may have found a Nazi train rumoured to be full of gold, gems and guns that disappeared in World War Two, Polish media say.
The train is believed to have gone missing near what is now the Polish city of Wroclaw as Soviet forces approached in 1945.
A law firm in south-west Poland says it has been contacted by two men who have discovered the armoured train. Polish media say the men want 10% of the value of the train's contents.
Local news websites said the apparent find matched reports in local folklore of a train carrying gold and gems that went missing at the end of World War Two near Ksiaz castle.

ummm....yeah....
Hate to be a wet blanket, but the last time I was in Europe, I just happened to be hauling around a train full of jewels and Nazi gold...When I was about to come back home, security at the airport in Frankfurt said I couldn't put the train on the plane without filling out a mountain of paperwork first. So I put the train to my side for a minute, and someone snatched it in the hustle and bustle of humanity at the security checkpoint...So I guess I'm saying this shit was *MINE* long before anyone else claimed to have discovered it...
FWIW I'm grateful to the people who found it for me, but they can forget about that ten percent bullshit for a finder's fee...I will buy the two men ONE beer each to show my appreciation, but no more...

Even if the judge decides to have all the gold chopped up into candy bar-size (the jewels can be the nuts) and divide it among us all, I'll still be out ahead...
Because if I'm totally honest, I might concede it's plausible that the train belonged to someone else before I found it and claimed it for myself...

Sooner or later either they'd draw attention to themselves, or they'd have to be selling it at like 5% of the true market value...

(29,785 posts)stunning ignorance of its occurrence as well as denial among many who do know what it was. Looked around for a street interview I saw last week about this - posted on DU I think - but couldn't locate it.
