Military class suspended for its view on Islam

WASHINGTON (AP) — A course for U.S. military officers has been teaching that America's enemy is Islam in general, not just terrorists, and suggested that the country might ultimately have to obliterate the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina without regard for civilian deaths, following World War II precedents of the nuclear attack on Hiroshima or the allied firebombing of Dresden.

The Pentagon suspended the course in late April when a student objected to the material. The FBI also changed some agent training last year after discovering that it, too, was critical of Islam.

The teaching in the military course was counter to repeated assertions by U.S. officials over the last decade that the U.S. is at war against Islamic extremists — not the religion.

"They hate everything you stand for and will never coexist with you, unless you submit," the instructor, Army. Lt. Col. Matthew Dooley, said in a presentation last July for the course at Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Va. The college, for professional military members, teaches midlevel officers and government civilians on subjects related to planning and executing war.

1.62 BILLION... That's the number of people who are estimated to adhere to the religion.

2.5 MILLION... That's the number of people right here in the US right now who adhere to the religion.


Really, if ALL of the people who follow this religion... heck, even if anything more than a small percentage of the adherants of Islam subscribed to the extremist/terrorist point of view... we'd be in VERY big trouble indeed.

Like with Christianity... the VAST majority are normal, decent human beings... a touch on the crazy side for their belief in a big invisible man that spoke through prophets or their virgin birth child centuries ago, but I respect their belief up to the point that their points of view start to affect my freedoms and beliefs or the freedems and beliefs of any other group... but I digress.

The instructors, supervisors, or anyone else who was involved in instituting these "courses" needs to be fired, thoroughly investigated, and possibly even imprisoned if even one person anywhere in the world has died or been illegally detained, or assaulted as a result of their bullshit course...

But, that's my imho.
