Jeb Bush has been lagging in the polls, trailing Donald Trump by a wide margin nationally and in early states.
Nevertheless, he’s still considered one of the most likely eventual nominees by pundits and political experts. One reason why is his Super PAC, Right To Rise, which has raised over $100 million, dwarfing his competitors.

But having money is one thing. Spending it wisely is another.

Yesterday, Right To Rise announced they were sending a mailer to 86,000 Iowa households touting Bush’s candidacy.''

Someone is doing a smear job on Jeb (not that I feel sorry for him). I just have to wonder whom it is that is doing it.

Maybe Right to Rise uses more than one Twitter account?

The alternative is what you suggest, someone's trying to false-flag him and Think Progress fell for it. It makes me wonder -- if the people at TP or a similar outlet receive something along these lines, are they alive to the possibility of being scammed, so that they do some checking, or do they just gleefully run with it?

If this was a scam, it also fooled NBC News and Time magazine, each of which also ran the photo and blamed Right to Rise for a photoshop fail. Am I being too naive in thinking that somebody would have checked this? The NBC News piece says they're following up. Pending a result from that inquiry, I'm guessing it's more likely that Right to Rise uses more than one Twitter account and this is a genuine screwup.

37. Heb's SuperPAC says it was just a shadow on the photo they used.

They tweeted the original photo. That ain't melanin -- it's a shadow cast by the woman standing next to him, who got photoshopped out. And, of course, Cedar Rapids got photoshopped in.

So it was just the more-or-less normal level of photoshop deception (trying to get Iowans to think that Heb was posing in Cedar Rapids). There was no black guy involved.
