Obama Gives Joe Biden 'Blessing' For 2016 Bid

Source: CNN

President Obama "gave his blessing" to VP Joe Biden's potential presidential bid at a lunch today, senior Democrat says.

By Jeff Zeleny and Peter Morris, CNN
Updated 7:30 PM ET, Mon August 24, 2015

Washington (CNN)Vice President Joe Biden received President Barack Obama's "blessing" to make a 2016 bid for the White House, according to a senior Democrat.

But that's if Biden chooses to run -- the decision is his. While he doesn't need the President's permission, of course, a potential presidential candidacy was among the topics of their lunch Monday at the White House. The President made clear he would not stand in his way or counsel him against a run, the senior Democrat said.

The Vice President was expected to huddle at his residence Monday night with Anita Dunn and Bob Bauer, the husband-and-wife team who have been at Obama's side for much of the last decade, two people familiar with the meeting told CNN. Steve Ricchetti, the Vice President's chief of staff, was also expected to attend.

"As a general rule, we are not going to confirm the Vice President's private meetings or provide a readout of them," an aide to the Vice President told CNN on Monday.

Whether or not there's wrongdoing, she's handled it abysmally and has made herself look guilty and killed her favorability.

I wonder what became of the legendary Clinton ability to fight back, which we were always told they would bring to a campaign.

I was ready, at one point, to support her, but now I think we cant risk the White House and the Supreme Court to such a train wreck of a campaign.

democratic establishment is worried about hillary. Her negatives are sky high.e-mail story isn't going away. She is in danger of losing
Iowa and NH to Bernie. The establishment doesn't want Bernie.he is honest guy who can't be bought and would pull party away from corporists and back to left.

I think Biden is going to run.I am 100% behind Bernie but i kind of like Biden even though he has done things i don't support.

Here is Biden's problems with base as i see them

Bankruptcy Bill
Voting for IWR
the belief he caused us to endure clarence thomas on Supreme Court
Supporting TPP

Biden has pluses over Hillary

he's authentic
he's not rich

I have seen him In dem primary devates and the VP debates.Don't count him out.

He is going to have to show why he is different than Hillary. He also can't just run for Obama's third term.

I believe Biden would like to be president but thought Hillary couldn't be beaten. His son's urging and now Hillary's weakness showed him he has a shot.

It would be funny if Biden coming in caused the DNC to have more debates to try to help Hillary.

I am sure the Clintons are furious at Obama now.

I think Biden meeting with Elizabeth Warren Is very intresting.

the belief was Bill clinton campagined for obama in 2012 to help Hillary's 2016 chances.don't forget there had been plenty of stories
of clintons only supporting those who supported Hillary In 2008.Also speculation McCaskill went after Bernie to prove herself to
clintons since she backed Obama over Hillary.

Unlike Hillary even though I am firmly an Bernie guy I could cast a vote for Biden In November 2016.If say Elizabeth Warren as
speculted was VP choice that would be even easier choice.

I do think he is good guy even though i have disagreed with some of things he has done.

But....if they THINK ABOUT IT....they shouldn't be, as they threw back then (2008) a little known Illinois Senator named Barack Obama under the bus first....and now it just might be #PaybackTime....

A series of comments from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, her husband and her supporters are spurring a racial backlash and adding a divisive edge to the presidential primary as the candidates head south to heavily African-American South Carolina.

The comments, which ranged from the New York senator appearing to diminish the role of Martin Luther King Jr. in the civil rights movement — an aide later said she misspoke — to Bill Clinton dismissing Sen. Barack Obama’s image in the media as a “fairy tale” — generated outrage on black radio, black blogs and cable television. And now they've drawn the attention of prominent African-American politicians.

“A cross-section of voters are alarmed at the tenor of some of these statements,” said Obama spokeswoman Candice Tolliver, who said that Clinton would have to decide whether she owed anyone an apology.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0108/7845.html

And by the way Many African-American (and especially Generation X A.A. Voters) have NOT forgot about South Carolina and the Clinton's in 2008. #DontBelieveTheHype #ItsASequel

Maybe just maybe President Obama has not forgot about this either. We will see if Joe jumps in with both feet!!!

Aug 2015

the assumination has been Hillary would get the black vote but what happens if Obama's VP is running? it makes sense that at least some black voters would desert Hillary for number 2 to America's first Black President.

and if black voters are reminded of the clintons actions In 2008.Like CLinton people trying to hint Obama has been a drug dealer In youth, her being candiate of hard working white Americans, and Bill Clinton dismissing Obama's SC win by saying Jesse Jackson won
SC In 1984 and 1988 to dismiss Obama's win.

Besides if it makes black voters to look at Bernie's record more.they will like what they see.Like taking part on march on
washington In 1963.organzing sitins in chicago to end desegration on collage campuses.Supporting Jesse Jackson for president In
1988.and if you look up the jackson platform which Is up on Wiki he and bernie have several things In agreement.

I turned 14 back In 1988 and people forget there was a lot of amazement and excitement over jackson's run for president and how well he did finishing second. Some thought he should have been picked for VP.

Excellent Points in fact, and many African-American Generation Xers have not forgot none of this (i.e. -- What the Clinton's did in 2007/2008) and are beginning to take a second look at Bernie after researching his history.

But...hey, the Clinton's did this to themselves. At one time, Bill Clinton was considered as close to a "African-American Like" POTUS as it could be. Then Barack Obama made the real dream happen, and the Clinton's while he was trying to do so, threw him under the bus for it.

It's their fault, not POTUS Obama, VP Biden, Senator Sanders or Senator Warren. The blame falls at their feet. They had our (i.e. many like myself Generation Xers -- Good Will) and they blew it with the South Carolina mess that should not have EVER HAPPENED.

No matter what she did (I.E. Serve as POTUS Obama's Secretary of State) -- South Carolina showed some REALLY ugly colors that will never be fully erased. Plenty of folks don't want to recognize this truth but, there's PLENTY of Truth to each of these words typed above.

Isn't anybody else clued in to how the MSM controls the population, who get all their "news" about the outside world from the same source?

Is anybody else shocked that the general population accepts its role as programmable software, consumers to be played?

This is all smoke and mirrors, substituting for examination of the actual issues that impact people.

The DNC knows Biden has a good chance because the public already knows who he is. Most people don't really know much about Warren or Bernie, sad to say.
