Donald Trump Says He’ll Decide on Possibility of Third Party Run ‘Soon’

Source: ABC News Aug 29, 2015, 6:33 PM ET

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump said today that a decision is imminent about whether he will run as a third party candidate.

“We’re going to make a decision very soon and I think a lot of people are going to be very happy," Trump told reporters in Nashville Tennessee, after addressing the National Federation of Republican Assemblies.

Trump was the only Republican at the Fox News GOP debate that took place earlier this month who would not rule out a third party bid were he to fail to win the GOP nomination.

If he does commit to support the party's nominee, however, a new rule adopted by the South Carolina Republican Party would bar him from competing in the state's primary, and other state GOP organizations have said they are considering a similar rule. He must file paperwork for the South Carolina primary by September 30th.

in order to get in the Republican primary in the states that require this pledge (SC,VA). After the convention, he will no longer feel bound by this pledge.

It must be realised, in this country as the the world does, the Republican Party is not a normal party that exists in a democratic continuum of politics. If Trump runs as a third party candidate, the world will benefit. If he continues to run amuck within the Republican Party, this is quite good too. The rest of the demonic clown limousine will harm the world. The more he annoys them, and keeps attention directed to himself, the better. Granted he is unstable, and mean-spirited, he is still independent from the powers that be in the Republican Party (which are horrid). He has no militia. He does not control the voting machines. He cannot become the president. He is a gift to the Democracy (which is also an olde appellation for the Democratic Party, and also the wider term).

The Donald here :

The old saying as you know goes 2's company 3's a crowd. I got 16 do little's tramping around looking for ways to pick up on some of my thunder. The way I see it, if I go the third way ,I take the crowd with me.
This is why it is so important my jet action rocket powered golf cart reaches the stage of completion. The folks just love my
amazing great, great charisma that just over flows out on to them with volcanic action. I even amaze myself, I mean it is
too unbelievable even to me !

I mean I know it's me ,I just can't help but be amazed by me myself. I must attract great crowds out in the open spaces and reach them up close and personal with my golf cart.

I call that my getting to know you campaign ,
The Donald here:
To know me is to love me !
I really think it is necessary to go third way ,my so very many millions of fans must find those 16 bozo's too much of a distraction,
soon they will demand I cut them loose, you know ,fire them !
They spoil the show !

It is far too great a thing to be kept under cover coming out as a surprise at the convention. Better I roll in with the voice of my many many millions of fans yelling," break the sound barrier Donald "- ! My imagination just runs wild over the great great experiences to gained and those votes too.

There is always the chance there won't be any need of a republican convention this time, the party could implode RIGHT ?
The party of Trump would of course hold the convention at Trump tower !

He'll have no choice (his ego will give him no options) but to leave the GOP as a smoldering abyss and start fresh as an independent. The Trump Party - keeping with his marketing desires to brand everything about himself.

AFAIK, those are not the national rules, just state rules. A northeastern state is saying they'll do the same thing to BS, IIRC.

A candidate doesn't need to win all states to carry on in a primary, no?

Someone please educate me, the state party rules are so different.

TIA.
