Defiant Kentucky clerk's backers want aides fired over marriage licenses to gays

Source: Reuters

Supporters of Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis, who refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples due to her religious beliefs, said on Wednesday that any of her deputies who provide such documents without her permission should be fired.

U.S. District Judge David Bunning ordered Davis released on Tuesday after six days in jail, warning her not to interfere with her deputy clerks who are issuing the licenses, or face further sanctions.

Bunning had found Davis, clerk for Rowan County in eastern Kentucky, in contempt after she stopped issuing licenses to any couples, citing her belief as an Apostolic Christian that a marriage can only be between a man and a woman.

The issuance of marriage licenses to same-sex couples in Kentucky and other states has become the latest focal point in the long-running debate over gay marriage in the United States.

they wont be able to touch her.

About one third of this country does not want our constitution to exist because it interferes with their desire to have their Sharia Law in effect.

There will be a perfect storm when the right successfully prevents hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of POC and students from voting 2016.

http://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/2015/09/08/kim-davis-released-jail/71881098/

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis was ordered released from jail today.

U.S. District Judge David Bunning, who jailed her for contempt of court Thursday for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, ordered her freed on the condition that she not interfere with her deputies, who have been granting licenses to gay and straight couples since Friday.

Bunning said the office had complied with his order.

********

If Ms. Davis blocks any marriage license she will be breaking the court's order and back to
jail she will go. The rally in KY was just for show.

She (actually her lawyers) wouldn't directly answer the question on if she would herself issue licenses when she returns to work Friday (or Monday), only that she would "not violate her conscience."

But you're correct, if she interferes (directly or indirectly), it's do not pass Go, go directly to jail.

1) The judge is being more than nice to Ms. Davis and is letting her and her lawyer say what they
want in public.

2) His office released a statement that Ms. Davis has agreed not to obstruct any more requests
for marriage licenses ..... I have no doubt that she had to sign off on that to get out of the county
lock up.

3) She is getting really bad legal advice ..... asking the supreme court to give her some
relief from a ruling that the court just made is really weird.

termination.

In Florida, if an elected official is accused of wrong doing or not performing his/her jobs, the governor has the power to suspend that elected official from his/her office. (It's been done more than a few times.)

Does the Kentucky governor not have that power? Or is he not willing to use it in this case?

It's over. It's been decided. Gay marriage is the law of the land. This clerk thinks she is engaged in civil disobedience. But the usual point of civil disobedience is to go to court to get a law changed. But here it's pointless, because the Supreme Court has already ruled on the issue.

if there was any sympathy from coworkers, there won't be now. I do my job and you want to fire me? But this woman refuses to do her job and she's in the right? Threatening the people in the clerk's office is a really juvenile tac to take, but I would expect no less from these knuckle draggers.

All the rest of the clerks told the judge they had no problem issuing marriage licenses to anyone who applied. So Kim Davis and her son are the only hold outs.

If Davis attempts to fire clerks in her office who continue to follow the law, there is going to be an interesting situation. All they have to do is to call the judge and he can throw Davis back in jail for violating his court order releasing her.

Tick... Tick... Tick... Etc.

The judge released loony, loony Kim on the condition that she not interfere.

Then, we hear what her loony, loony lawyer is saying... Plus Mike of the Hucklebuck. (Sadly, US Senator Ted Cruz is relegated to mere photo bombing.)

Then there's Kim's overall covered fourth husband. Also her second husband.

Ms Davis. Your second and fourth husbands are on hold. Line One!

One cannot begin to ridicule this enough.

Thankfully we have the @nexttokimdavis Twitter account.

She/He knows the two ultimate realities. First, only ridicule can solve this problem. Second, there is nothing worse than a staffer with an attitude.
