US agents on Honduran military operation
May 16, 2012 -- 12:03 PM

State department officials confirm U.S. law enforcement agents were working with Honduran military forces aboard a helicopter during an anti-drug operation in which at least four people were reportedly slain.

Human rights organizations and Honduran news media report that at least four people were killed and several more were wounded when forces aboard the helicopter fired on a boat Friday night.

Honduran reports say the U.S. agents aboard the helicopter were from the Drug Enforcement Administration. DEA officials referred requests for comment to the State Department.
