HOUSTON (AP) A former Houston police officer was found not guilty Wednesday in the 2010 videotaped beating of a 15-year-old burglary suspect.
A six-person jury found Andrew Blomberg not guilty of official oppression, a misdemeanor. He had faced up to a year in jail if convicted.
Blomberg, 29, was the first of four fired police officers to stand trial for their roles in the alleged beating of Chad Holley.
During his trial, Blomberg testified he didn't mistreat Holley and denied kicking or stomping on the teenager's head or neck. Blomberg said he only used his foot to move Holley's arm after the teenager refused to comply with an order to put his hands behind his back. The ex-officer said he never stepped on Holley's hand or arm.

(257 posts)Well at least the teabaggers have a hero. Until he is outed as a white supremacist or into kiddy porn.
What is the deal with him being all super friendly with his sister? While his life partner is checking out his butt touching himself?
That is creepy.

(13,184 posts)No matter what atrocities they commit, cops rarely get indicted. Even more rarely do they get convicted. Something is seriously fucked up, and it's not just in the culture of the police.

(9,397 posts)while. not them beating the kid, but the fact that anyone could actually vote for any of them being not guilty after watching that video is a fool. lol, what does it take for the truth to come out Jesus testifying in court.
maybe we need for GOD to testify in cases like this, I would love to hear someone say they just didn't believe that GOD guy with all the lights and stuff.

(1,142 posts)I guess, the jury took the policeman's verbal testimony as the truth, dismissing what is clearly visible in the video, the suspect may have resisted arrest and tried to flee, but clearly at the time of his beating he was not resisting, and was beaten, I just don't understand, how they could come to the conclusion that the officer didn't use excessive force.

(9,350 posts)I am not surprised that he got off, but it is still sad. I figured the fact that the kid was a robbery suspect would allow Blomberg to get off.
The video clearly shows that Blomberg jumped on Chad Holley.

(875 posts)You are commenting on racism and you do the same thing, label a group of people as one way? What if I said the same smack about your state, Jethro?
BTW, I did watch the video and do not see how he got out of this one, you can clearly see his foot on the back of the guy's neck, twice. And this "wasn't no misdemeanor" behavior, either, even the Chief of Police in Houston said they should be charged with a felony(see, not everyone in Texas is the same way).
One thing I did not like is the group of officers that were there to show "support". I do not want to pay them for that time, and I do think that it was intimidation on the jury.

(6,045 posts)They are 99.99999% UNTOUCHABLE especially when it comes to beating African Americans!
Somehow someway something needs to be done to ROCK law enforcement (possibly by any means necessary!) in this country so they start acting like the so-called "professionals" they are suppose to be!
