GOP Politician Who is “Anti-Marijuana” and on Drug Abuse Committee Busted for Marijuana Possession

Source: Ring of Fire

An anti-marijuana New York assemblyman was arrested for marijuana possession after an officer stopped him for a traffic violation.

New York state Assemblyman Stephen M. Katz (R) from Mohegan Lake was pulled over for speeding when a police officer found a “small bag” of marijuana on Thursday. Katz was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, punishable by a fine of up to $100. Shortly after the arrest, Katz issued a statement.

“This should not overshadow the work I have done over the years for the public and my constituency. I am confident that once the facts are presented that this will quickly be put to rest.”

Katz became a victim of the very system he helped perpetuate. Luckily, he isn’t influential in the New York state legislature, being that Democrats hold the majority. He has a troubled past, however. As a veterinarian, he illegally disposed of a dead German shepherd, and allegedly intentionally harmed another dog he was treating.

doing what they are screaming about, in some cases.

Psychological Projection: Psychological projection is a defense mechanism people subconsciously employ in order to cope with difficult feelings or emotions. Psychological projection involves projecting undesirable feelings or emotions onto someone else, rather than admitting to or dealing with the unwanted feelings.

Yeah that's what it was, research, and being the humanitarian that he is he couldn't let anyone else be the test subject.

Conservatives are always selflessly using themselves as test subjects for research. Drugs, sex, you name it, all except the ones that are for the death penalty for some reason.

Republicans are anti-drug and he doesn't have the courage of his convictions. Probably came out hard against it to prevent any suspicion from taking root. " I thought I smelled weed on Representative so and so!" "Couldn't be, that guy leads the fight against it!"

Anyone who preaches against, or publicly opposes legalizing or keeping legal the very behavior for which he or she is caught doing, e.g., drug possession, sex outside of marriage, LGBT rights, etc., should be punished not only for the act they were busted for, but also the hypocrisy of publicly opposing, but secretly engaging in such acts.

We should be able to stop in their tracks the family values politicians caught having affairs; the anti-LGBT people outed by being caught having gay sex; the anti-drug scolds caught with pot or other drugs; etc.

for possession was harsher.
That said, maybe this will open his eyes. All that "great" work he did wasn't in any way harmed by his own use. And the first bad thing that happened to him was because of the laws against pot.
Or at least get him kicked off the commission.

They'll give him a $100 fine and a very stern warning about getting caught with pot when you're an anti-pot politician.

This will teach him the most important of all lessons: "Don't get caught."
