Move over, Barack and Michelle Obama!! Apparently, America just got a new first family. And they won't be staying in the White House they prefer their swanky West Coast digs.
According to Cosmopolitan, the Kardashians are the new reigning family. The magazine recently unveiled the cover for its November 2015 issue, featuring the Kardashian and Jenner women.
Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner posed in all-white. Bold pink font reads, "America's First Family."
The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" stars really have America wrapped around their well-manicured fingers! Social media activity suggests otherwise. Some people are downright disgusted by Cosmo's bold move, and are tweeting their frustration at the publication.

(2,841 posts)More and more, our society is tired of all the so-called "pop culture" fluff and vapidity that the MSM try to cram down our throats while more important shit is going on all around us. People just don't give a damn about which celebrity is fucking who and what celebrity is wearing some outrageous outfit on the red carpet. Nobody cares!

(8,999 posts)I was out of the country when they started to hit the newswires so I didn't know what it was about. When we lived in the states for awhile, I didn't bother to find out and now that we are abroad again, I see that our local tv provider lists their 'show'. Ugh. I don't want this group representing Americans. They are nothing like the rest of us (as far as I can tell, ugh).

(5,161 posts)and, in this case, Cosmo readers are more concerned with the Kardashians and getting an "epic ass" than politics.
Getting worked into a lather over this is just a waste of energy.

The Kardashians are the royalty we made and deserve.
They're a sign of how vapid we - as a society - have become.
Yes, they were 'marketed to us', but a good portion of the country bought it - hook, line & sinker.

Well,. from time to time I hear or read the name "Kardashian" but that's the total of my knowledge of them.
I asked Sweet Thing if she knows them, drew a blank. Daughter says they have a TV show of some kind. Son and daughter-in-law shrugged their shoulders.

(1,701 posts)I've heard the name, of course, and I have some vague idea that Kim Kardashian is famous for some reason, but I don't know why, and I don't want to know. I think one or more of them is on some reality TV show, but since I have never watched one and don't intend to, the whole "Kardashian" phenomenon is a mystery to me. Are they famous for being famous? No--don't answer that question, I don't want to know. Sometimes ignorance truly IS bliss.
