Facing Criticism, Obama Defends Ads Attacking Romney's Record at Bain Capital

Source: NY Times

Responding to criticism from some Democratic supporters, President Obama said Monday that attacks on Mitt Romney's experience at Bain Capital were fair game and that Mr. Romney's years at the helm of a private equity firm were worthy of serious debate.

The guy was a corporate raider. He made $250 000 000 by throwing middle class families into the unemployment line.

Okay, fine...if the Republicans don't like it when Democrats cite Romney's RECORD at Bain Capital, then why don't we switch to talking about his RECORD as Governor of Mass.? Will that make you feel better?

Romney was Governor.

He's okay when it comes to making private industry money, not so good when it comes to running a State.

...romney's record at bain is something that HE can talk about and that WE need to take at face value.

However, what the President ate when he was 6 (and probably told to eat or get nothing as many moms tell their kids) IS fair game.

Morons.

PEACE!

that will turn off many voters. It may well end up to be the dirtiest campaign that I have ever witnessed in my 66 years of life.

I would love to witness a campaign about the issues. It is sad that negative advertisements work in a political campaign but they do.

Romney was one tough and a very dirty SOB during the Republican primary and I predict he will turn negative in the near future. If he doesn't he will definitely lose. I seriously believe that Obama could run a clean campaign and win as he is the most charismatic politician that I have ever seen. While Obama understands the plight of the average citizen in our nation, Romney is a totally out of touch member of the 1% who is building a mansion with an elevator for his cars!

I really don't give a shit about Rev. Wright or the history of the Mormon religion. I really don't care what Romney did in high school 50 years ago and I don't care that Obama said in a book that he experimented with drugs. I do care about the issues and the plans that the two candidates have to solve the truly serious problems that our nation faces.

Our nation is like a galley on a journey to a distant shore. If we all row together we will reach that goal despite the stormy weather. If a privileged few relax in lounge chairs drinking 100 year old vintage wine while instructing their subordinates to whip the crap out of the the poor serfs in order to get them to row harder, we will be lucky to not have a rebellion in which some refuse to row and others decide to drill holes in the boat. We may just end up going in circles at the best.

Of the two candidates, Obama has the better vision in my opinion. Romney is not just a waffler, he is a shape shifter and has been on every side of every issue depending on which way the wind is blowing.
