Wisconsin Republicans don't want Syrian refugees

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Republican leaders of the Wisconsin state Assembly say they don't want Syrian refugees in the state.
They are circulating a letter to be sent to President Barack Obama's administration Monday saying they don't want refugees from Syria in Wisconsin given the Paris terrorist attacks.
.................................Gov. Scott Walker said in September that the U.S. should not take in any more refugees from Syria. His spokeswoman did not immediately return a message seeking comment Monday.

So sad to see this. But we already knew Walker did not want to open our doors to refugees

(16,286 posts)who could be killers so we keep all 10,000 out and sentence them to likely death?
Holy moly.

(14,449 posts)I can see that those forced to take them would never treat them right. Can you imagine them putting out tents and can goods and saying well there you go. Good luck. It would be a nightmare. Maryland can easily take 65,000 and will be treated with dignity.

Notice a pattern in the above listed names? Let me help you. All of them are white terrorists. So there are bad apples in every group of people. Not all Syrian refugees are bad guys. Just as all white guys are not bad guys.

(631 posts)The evidence may not yet be in, but ISIS threatened to send their fighters into Europe under the cover of "refugees", and preliminary finding show they did this, and one would have to be naive to believe there aren't more. As Democrats, we may have big hearts, but that should not overrule our heads. This is a very dangerous situation that has just been made far more dangerous!

(631 posts)Frankly, I don't know what we should do. Help Europe set up refugee camps? Send food and clothing? Help them with security? But people are frightened, and we have to recognize that, too. Does anyone blame the French for closing their borders, or the Poles? This situation has just changed, and our response needs to change, too. What was possible last Thursday is not possible anymore.
Very bad situation just made unimaginably worse!
