CARACAS, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Latin American Parliament (Parlatino) condemned on Friday the acts of espionage allegedly perpetrated by the U.S. government over a decade against the Venezuelan national oil company, PDVSA.
Parlatino President Angel Rodriguez told the press that all the deputies of Venezuela's Great Patriotic Pole coalition of social movements condemned such acts revealed by Edward Snowden, a former operative of U.S. National Security Agency (NSA).
"Nobody will believe any American spokesman who says the espionage against PDVSA was not for dark reasons, such as seeking commercial secrets," said the Venezuelan parliamentarian.
Venezuela's TV channel TeleSUR has recently reported that the NSA allegedly spied on the PDVSA and many of its staff up until 2010.

You just don't like the results, and like your comrades in the Venezuelan
right, are trying to violently overthrow a democratically elected government.
That makes you a terrorist sympathizer.

(5,902 posts)Because tomorrow is election day in Argentina, whose current administration these types hate almost as much - even though it's more of a "pinko" administration pretty much along the lines of Bernie Sanders or Martin O'Malley.
Here's a good example of the recent back-and-forth on that in the Latin America forum: http://www.democraticunderground.com/110845307#post4
It's a runoff, so the only two remaining candidates are Front for Victory nominee Daniel Scioli and Mauricio Macri of the "Let's Change" coalition (dominated by the xenophobic, laissez-faire Republican Proposal party). Scioli has a good personal reputation and a fairly strong economy (2.8% growth, near-record consumer confidence) on his side; but Macri has big business and big media on his, not to mention a well-oiled Limbaugh-style attack machine - so this election is probably going to be close.
If Macri loses tomorrow, watch for cries of "fraud" - in fact, a veritable and well-financed chorus from hell. Which is ironic since the only one who's been attempting voter fraud in Argentina, is Macri himself. http://www.democraticunderground.com/10026942187

His family were not fans of the Bolivarian Rev., but he
admitted that, like Hugo & Maduro or not, the
corruption of the old DA & Copei was gone for good.
Some folks appear to have not gotten the memo.
