Neb. Governor Urges Public Vote on Gay Bias Laws

LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska's governor says city ordinances barring discrimination against gay and transgender people should be put to public votes.

Gov. Dave Heineman on Tuesday cited a recent opinion from the state attorney general's office that said cities would have to amend their charters to offer protections to groups not covered by state law.

imagine how well they would have done. Maybe he would also like to take civil rights from women, just make them outright slaves. These guys are such absolute jerks.

going away with the end of them and those of that ilk. It's been decades since the passage of the civil rights laws and here we are again with the same type of bigots and haters, venting their hatred and bigotry toward women, blacks, LGBT and anyone else that doesn't fit their simplistically stupid view of the world.

the Midwest. These people think they're only affecting LGBT, but many people are fed up with these tactics/thoughts/notions. We're getting out of here and I know others fed up with this nonsense.

In Virgina, I'm not sure how this stands now, but some people were leaving Virginia because of their inane laws some years back. Here's a link on that ...

VOTERS AND LEGISLATORS in Virginia have been increasingly busy in recent times, seemingly vying for the title of most homophobic state in the union.

Unfriendly laws cause some gay residents to leave Virginia.

''The main reason we moved out of Virginia was that law that went through about leaving your assets to someone of the same sex,'' says Hoban, pointing to the so-called Virginia Affirmation Act, which became law in 2004.
