Donald Trump criticised for mocking journalist's disability during campaign speech

Source: The Independent

Donald Trump has been widely condemned for mocking a reporter’s disability during a campaign speech.

The Republican presidential frontrunner imitated The New York Times’ culture and investigative reporter, Serge Kovaleski, during a rally for supporters in South Carolina on Tuesday.

Mr Kovaleski suffers from arthrogryposis, a congenital condition affecting how his joints move.

The millionaire entrepreneur made several offensive gestures while defending a claim he made a few days earlier in which he said he had witnessed thousands of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating on the day of the 9/11 attacks.

Just one more reason why the man is unfit to hold ANY office.

But it just keeps coming and coming and coming. Everything that comes out of this man's mouth seems to get a pass. I don't get it. Have we as a society sunk THIS low that THIS kind of man can be taken seriously?

it is getting worse by the day. Perhaps he has had a TIA (a tiny stroke) or something that has injured the part of the brain that regulates various behaviors and emotions.

If I were his family, I would be doing my best to see that he gets to a neurologist for a complete check up ASAP. It might be fixable.

they will keep pushing and pushing. They either self-destruct or if knocked down like in a school yard fight they can usually pull out of it. But if they keep winning every fight, they just keep pushing the envelope. And being wealthy probably no one has ever said NO to him in his whole life. Considering the conservatives in the Republican are generally bullies themselves they are made for each other.

The man excels at self-promotion and publicity. I doubt he believes most of what he says, but he knows his audience and how to pander to them. If they didn't respond (and look at how his ratings have gone up since Paris), he wouldn't be saying these things. This is an indictment of Trump for playing to the base instincts of the populace, but equally of the populace for having those base instincts in the first place.

Plus, the guy is becoming more and more unhinged. It's so sad that so many Americans think that what he displays makes one presidential. Trump as the frontrunner is the best thing the democrats have going for them. We seriously doubt Trump could win a GE.

act like that. never having been beaten to a pulp for it, he mistakes his protection for manliness. Witness the many 'throw downs' of Justin Beiber. If they were just trounced by their victims even once, they would be better people. This fucker thinks he's tough because the meat heads around him prevent natural consequences for his actions.

The Republicans love to hate, they live for it.
And Trump represents hate better than Carson or Rubio.

They don't need foreign policies that are rational.
They don't need economic policies that might work.
They just want to support hatred to feed their anger!!

And a sickening indictment on the character of his followers. That so many Americans admire such a demagogue is horrific. He's Hitler without the charisma. He's racist, homophobic and hates the handicapped. He wants segments of the population to wear visible ID on them. Heaven help us if his popularity ever was widespread instead of limited to his hateful base.

in real life. He is the mirror in which the nation looks to wake up. Some won't but the majority will. He actually is doing a public service. He has no chance to win but he's taking them down with him. The estab. pugs are getting ready to take him down as a fascist but I think it will entrench him more on their side. He is going to kill their side.
