None Of The 14 GOP Presidential Candidates Have Responded To The Planned Parenthood Shooting

Republican presidential candidates John Kasich, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina and Rand Paul take the stage before the Republican presidential debate at the Milwaukee Theatre, Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, in Milwaukee.

Approximately 10 hours after a gunman went on a shooting rampage at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado, only two presidential candidates have issued statements expressing support for either the three victims or the women’s health organization.

Of the 17 candidates, only former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) have put out public statements in response to the massacre, which lasted approximately five hours and resulted in the deaths of one police officer and two civilians.

They will have to be very carefully word-smithed responses so as to walk the fence without falling off either side. It will be interesting to see if this topic comes up at the next Repug debate or will the candidates throw a hissy fit and the RNC ban any such questions or topic?

Historically, this kind of stochastic terrorism and dog whistling is nothing but win for them. Because nobody puts them to the question. Out one side of their mouth they encourage it, as red meat for their base. But for the vast block of low-information voters, they mouth a few platitudes about "tragedy." And so it's all good.

here is Clinton's reaction to the Tennessee recruiter shooting which seems the most equivalent to this one:

http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/16/politics/hillary-clinton-chattanooga-shooting/

Cruz said the following:

http://www.mediaite.com/online/ted-cruz-declares-chattanooga-shooting-an-act-of-war/

“In the wake of this vicious attack on our nation we need to rid ourselves of two dangerous delusions, first and foremost that a ‘lone gunman’–as President Obama described the shooter–is somehow isolated from the larger threat of radical Islamic terrorism,” he continued. “In the modern world, no one acts in isolation. Through social media ISIS, al Qaida, and other groups are infiltrating our nation with impunity while our government will not even admit that radical Islamic terrorism is a problem.”

Does any reporter have the guts to ask Cruz about his no lone wolf theory?

According to them the only hate crimes that matter are those done by Islamics. Since they don't like PP, they ignore terrorism and cop killing when it's done by one of their own. If this had been a black guy or a Muslim, OMG, how up in arms they'd be. Cop killers would be the nicest headlines we'd see. The whole country would be put on a watch, threat level raised to red, etc. etc. It's only not OK when people other than them kill cops.

Death Threats On Abortion Providers Spike In Wake Of Planned Parenthood Videos
"I'll pay ten large to whomever kills Dr. Deborah Nucatola," one person posted.

"The CEO of StemExpress should be hung by the neck using piano wire and propped up on the lawn in front of the building with a note attached," Joseywhales wrote, according to a legal complaint filed by the National Abortion Federation in a California district court.
The person then posted Dyer's home address and offered "ten grand to whomever beats me" to her house, warning that Dyer "must die to save the innocents."
According to abortion rights advocates, Joseywhales' post is just one example of an alarming spike in death threats and violent acts against abortion providers, clinics and companies that work with them since the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood were released.

Two Planned Parenthood clinics have reported arsons, anti-abortion protesters are showing up in large numbers at doctors' homes, and commenters on conservative websites and online forums are calling for the bombings of abortion clinics across the country, according to Vicki Saporta, president of the National Abortion Federation. Saporta is so alarmed by the escalation of threats against providers that she asked the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigations to intervene.

Caught in a fib (Don’t Say Outright Lie), Fiorina refuses to acknowledge misstep

At last week’s Republican debate, Carly Fiorina described a Planned Parenthood video showing “a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says, ‘We have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.’”

There is no such video. It does not exist. This pesky detail has since touched off a striking series of events.

First, the GOP candidate insisted the day after the debate that she “didn’t misspeak,” adding, “I have seen those images.” Of course, Fiorina couldn’t have seen those images, because there are no such images.

All of them would defund Planned Parenthood, most of them would close it outright, and at least three of them (Ted Cruz, Ben Carson and Mike Huckabee) would happily sign an unconstitutional ex post facto law allowing anyone who'd ever performed or received an abortion for any reason to be tried for capital murder. This probably works out pretty well for them; if someone thinks they will be shot to death for going to Planned Parenthood, many people wouldn't go. They can't get up and say that, so they'll say nothing.
