Mitt Romney says that if elected Congress :
Mitt Romney says that if elected Congress should wait until he takes office to block automatic spending cuts and to keep tax cuts from expiring. . .
Government analysts say the economy will shrink if Congress doesn't act to prevent the expiration of two major rounds of tax cuts along with automatic spending cuts to the Pentagon and domestic programs.

WAIT WAIT WAIT! DEFINITELY don't do anything good NOW!

He's treating this like a BUSINESS DEAL! CLEARLY he's not suited for 'government work,' has no idea of the consequences of decisions of a PRESIDENT, Just as PrezO said, in response to question at NATO presser.

(26,184 posts)Congress needs to do what Obama has proposed and extend the Bush tax cuts except for those households making over $250,000--and also extend the payroll tax cuts.
Of course, Romney wants the economy to go off the cliff--so he can fix it with more tax cuts for everyone--particularly those in the top 1%--who will see the big bucks!

(130,895 posts)'Markets' as a whole wouldn't affect an individual company's prospects, and that's where he's always been, looking at individual companies. But the broader 'markets' clearly affect the prospects for the entire U.S. (and world) economy.

(7,403 posts)Acting like he is already President in waiting. Also, the more pressing issue is the debt ceiling where Boehner has threatened the credit rating of America by backing out on a previous agreement from just last year. His silence indicates he has put Boehner up to this and that Romney needs to be held accountable for this brinkmanship. Romney is a disaster waiting to happen.
