Taxpayers fund $1,100 for camera Rush Limbaugh
Source: CBS News
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. The Missouri House has spent more than $1,100 in taxpayer money on a security camera to keep watch over a new bronze bust of conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh.
House Clerk Adam Crumbliss said Thursday he authorized the camera because of concerns the sculpture of Limbaugh's shoulders and head might be vandalized.
Limbaugh was inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians last week during a closed-door ceremony intended to keep away protesters. Some Democrats, women's groups and liberal activists opposed Limbaugh's selection.
The bust went on public display at the Missouri Capitol after lawmakers ended their annual session last Friday.
The hall features dozens of statues of people including President Harry Truman, Walt Disney and former Cardinals baseball star Stan Musial.
Limbaugh's is the only one with its own security camera.

You don't REALLY dislike Rush because he snapped the leash of a professional activist who said something absurd in a... a... a pretend Congressional hearing and then got called out on it.
Just say what you mean. Try the truth. I can respect the truth. Just choose the real reason why you dislike Rush from the following list:
I dont like Rush Limbaugh because he effectively articulates values that I do not share.
I dont like Rush Limbaugh because he was the vanguard impetus for a wave of conservative media (including Fox News) that makes it harder for the narrative of my values to flourish.
I dont like Rush Limbaugh because he was the vanguard impetus of middle-finger political rhetoric that runs rampant today (and in which I often participate wholeheartedly while condemning publicly.).
I dont like Rush Limbaugh because I am a Socialist and I cannot successfully debate his overarching theme of American Exceptionalism, Personal Responsibility, and the merits of Capitalism.
Go ahead. Try it. Just say what you really mean. "Sex tourist?" "Women hater?" Nah. That's not REALLY why you dislike Rush. The truth will set you free.

(43,174 posts)I mean, Ty Cobb had a nasty, ugly personality, but he was one hell of a ballplayer so they shouldn't take down his Cooperstown plaque for that reason alone. Nor should OJ Simpson's bust in Canton be removed on account of his well-publicized post-football career legal issues.
But those were people who excelled to great lengths in their career, notwithstanding their personalities.
What great things has Rush Limbaugh done? All the man does is sit behind a microphone and blabber for three hours. Give me a show and I can do the same. He got lucky through the syndication process and is heard nationally, but that's about it.
Any fool can talk for three hours. Not every fool can have 4,000 career hits or rush for 2,000 yards in a season, even if the people who do accomplish those feats are fools themselves.
