Source: News9.com

CUSTER COUNTY, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has identified a man arrested in connection to a shooting spree that killed two people on Interstate 40, west of the Oklahoma City metro, early Thursday morning.
According to the OSBI, late Wednesday night, police in western Oklahoma began receiving multiple 911 calls reporting the driver of a vehicle committing acts of road rage. Callers also reported the driver was shooting at cars.

A man driving with his wife along Interstate 40 westbound was hit by that gunfire, according to the OSBI. That occurred at approximately mile marker 93 near Hydro. Jeffrey Kent Powell, 45, of Arapaho, died at the scene.

A short time later, Weatherford police on normal patrol found a vehicle on Airport Road (mile marker 84) just off I-40. Inside the vehicle was woman who had been shot. Billie Jean West, 63, of Lone Wolf, was pronounced dead at a Weatherford hospital, according to the OSBI.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers caught up with the pickup truck described by multiple 911 callers. A short pursuit ensued with the suspect traveling into Washita County and back into Custer County. At mile marker 50, the suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Jeremy Doss Hardy of Pasadena, Texas, pulled to the shoulder and surrendered.

Guess what? He was drunk white dude w/a gun and not a Muslim, a Syrian refugee,
or a person of color so I guess this wasn't an act of terrorism.

If anybody can post his picture that would be nice.

7. If only we had more guns? Is that the right answer?

Then we (the innocents) could drive down the hiway and shoot the drunk weirdo before he shot us?

I just love this line of thought.

Every husband and wife should go to bed fully loaded (guns) in case their spouse decides to get really angry and decides to murder the other.

I don't remember the names of the South African Tragedy Show but the lady in the bathroom should have worn bullet-proof negligee and packed an AK47, just in case.

Children, adults; church leaders, parishioners; lawyers, clients; doctors, clients; check-out clerks, customers - they should all be ready to take out a possible threat.

8. Yeah, I made the same point you are making, not that we have too many guns, that we have them

It is time to outgrow them

10. Agree - but that would require that we (as a country) "grow up".

The spoiled brats of the NRA and the enablers (paid-for congress-things) aren't going to grow up as long as they can make money on fear and murder.

9. Well a good person w/a gun can always stop a bad person w/a gun.

Just like the Navy Yard Shooting, in 2013 where we had good men and women w/guns
that had training and in some cases combat experience too and some of them wound
up getting shot.

11. And armed guards stationed inside a theater can't stop someone with a killer's agenda

You could have them standing along every wall. Since open-carry is allowed in many jurisdictions, I could walk into that theater packing some serious weaponry, have a seat and wait for the lights to dim.

F'd up country, this.
