British soldier killed in explosion in Afghanistan

A British soldier from the 1st Battalion, The Royal Welsh, has been killed in an explosion in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has said.
He died in the blast while travelling in a vehicle in the Nahr-e Saraj region of Helmand province.
The soldier's next of kin have been informed.
A total of 415 members of UK forces have died since operations in Afghanistan began in October 2001.
