500 people involved in upheaval at Deptford Mall

Source: NJ.com

DEPTFORD (NJ) - "Chaos broke out at the Deptford Center Mall Saturday night after a "large disturbance" involving more than 500 people erupted near the food court.

Multiple law enforcement agencies from both Gloucester and Camden counties were called to the mall, located on Deptford Center Road.

Videos posted on social media show droves of people dispersing near the Sears store on the second level.

One juvenile was arrested in the incident, police said."

Are people starting to crack up? It seems like there are increasing numbers of violent incidents happening all over the place. Climate change? Stress?

As many as 2,000 people, mostly juveniles, caused multiple disturbances and fights at the Mall St. Matthews Saturday evening, prompting police from four agencies to respond and forcing the shopping center to close early, police said. WHAS11

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Two off-duty deputies made an arrest Saturday night following a fight that broke out at Park Plaza Mall.

On Dec. 26, at 8 p.m., an off-duty deputy, who was in Dillard's at Park Plaza Mall, heard over his radio another deputy needing assistance. There was reportedly several hundred individuals fighting. The deputy in Dillard's Mall responded and was able to help his fellow deputy to alleviate the situation. Mall security began evacuating most of the shoppers. They also shutdown the mall early due to the fights.

A Nassau County police spokesman tells The Associated Press officers responded to a report of a fight at the shopping mall. There were no reported injuries.

Videos posted on social media sites showed shoppers running through the shopping mall and hiding behind a wall near the food court.

A spokesman for Simon Property Group, which runs the mall, didn't immediately respond to a message seeking comment.

The media seldom bothers to; but you know, whenever a shooting rampage occurs the public is entitled to disclosure as to the broad outlines of that person's mental health treatment history if any.

Sure enough: in most cases, the assailant was on pharmaceutical anti-depressants - particularly the SSRI kind. Here's a link to a site that compiles media stories of cases linked to their use: http://ssristories.org/

There are other health implications as well; but the fact that out of ten widespread medications with established links to violence, five are anti-depressants, should be food enough for thought.

My kids are both teenagers and none of their friends- many who work at the mall have said a word about this. There is one article out there- maybe 2 but believe me if there had been a fight with 500 people or any kind of incident it would'be been all over the news- and there is nothing but the crickets chirping. There is one comment from someone on the Deptford police force that an investigation is ongoing and there could be arrests - but I really do not think it was this huge event that they are making it out to be.

It also seems to me that there is a great deal more gun violence and other kinds of violence around the globe, and am wondering what kinds of factors might be contributing to that.
