Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton Endorses Sanders

Source: Sun Times Network

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has secured another endorsement, this time from an unlikely source: Republican Tom Cotton.

During an interview on “Arkansas Week: Special Edition,” the Arkansas senator said he has no plans to make a personal endorsement on his own side of the aisle but already knows who he’s rooting for in the Democratic race.

The idiots at the National Review are urging conservatives to support Bernie Sanders http://www.nationalreview.com/article/420262/bernie-sanders-republicans-myra-adams

Support Bernie Sanders!

This is a call to action for every Republican anxious to win back the White House in 2016. Bernie Sanders, the socialist U.S. senator from Vermont, is now surging in his quest to win the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination. He is attracting media attention and large crowds, and is invigorated by a New Hampshire–primary poll showing him only 10 points behind frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

After a GOP power player sent me a piece from left-leaning Salon headlined “Hillary Clinton is going to lose: She doesn’t even see the frustrated progressive wave that will nominate Bernie Sanders,” my heart went pitter-patter, beginning to sense an opportunity. But it was not until I saw a headline in The Hill warning that the “Sanders surge is becoming a bigger problem for Clinton,” accompanied by “It may be time for Hillary Clinton to take the challenge from Sen. Bernie Sanders more seriously,” that I was truly motivated to join Team Bernie and rally my fellow Republicans to do the same.

The GOP is urging people to support sanders because the conservatives know that they can not beat Hillary Clinton. The author of this article actually made a contribution to Sanders.

for Sanders may make Sanders the president. The heavy thinkers can't shift gears to support a Republican in the general that easily after saying they are supporting Sanders.

This could very easily backfire on them.

But then again the Republican power brokers may be scared to death of Trump or Cruze or Carson.

Who knows now, I did not think this could get any weirder.

to undermine it..

To a growing list of ways Republicans have tried to undermine President Barack Obama, add writing a letter to Iran’s leaders while the Obama administration is at a critical moment in negotiating a nuclear deal with Tehran. A letter addressed to “leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran” and signed by nearly four dozen GOP senators Monday drew harsh criticism from the White House and some Democratic senators, who saw the move as a new extreme in the politicization of foreign policy. The letter, signed by 47 Republican senators, warns Iran’s leaders a deal brokered by Obama could be reversed if it's made without congressional approval, the New York Times reported.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., who drafted the letter, said it was meant to educate Iranian leaders who might not understand the American system of government

Republican Sen. Tom Cotton from Arkansas is feeling the Bern, joking that he strongly supports Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ candidacy for the Democratic nomination.

“I, for many months, I’ve been strongly in favor of Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary,” Cotten said in a year-end interview on Arkansas Week: Special Edition that aired this week and was taped in December.

On the Republican side, Cotton said he doesn’t have any plans to endorse.

He's endorsing Bernie because he knows Bernie doesn't stand a chance in the general (all the Bernie supporters can stuff their fit of the vapors over my feelings about that, I don't care - it's my opinion and they'll just have to suck up the fact I don't agree with them) and so he's endorsing who he considers the weaker candidate in the hopes of facing them in the general.
