Romney hits 'magic number' for GOP nomination

Source: CNN

Mitt Romney hit his party's "magic number" on Tuesday, unofficially clinching the Republican presidential nomination in a race he entered as the front-runner and has had to himself for weeks.

Romney led the pack when he announced his second run for the White House last June, and he has watched his rivals for the nomination slowly trickle out as their own wins looked increasingly unlikely.

The delegates to put him over the 1,144 necessary for the GOP nomination came in Texas, the lone state to vote this week. Romney entered the day 78 delegates away from the magic number, and on Tuesday CNN projected he would win the state's GOP presidential primary, where 152 of the state's 155 delegates were at stake.

...which means Romney will now ignore the Tea Party extremists and the Birther kooks, right?

Because they are the majority of the voting members of the GOP now.
The rest of the members of the Republican party are going to sit this one out.

7. Was the "magic number" seriously injured? Does Mitt REMEMBER hitting it?

(Or...did he actually pay some OTHER guys to hit the "magic number" and forcibly cut its hair off?)

11. Irony of it is...TX repukes are really pissed at him

There was an article over the weekend quoted alot of local repukes who were pouting that he has not spent, in their collective opinions, enough time down here. They were bitching and moaning but them backed down and tried to downplay their reaction by saying "well, as long as he is spending time/money in the battleground states so we beat Obama in November".

In their mind, if Romney shows his face enough here, he will "help" lower ticket repuke players (county level, etc..). They took quite the beating in 2008 since so many Dems showed up to vote and wiped the floor with local repuke office holders/candidates.

The voter turnout was pretty dismal, per the papers. They are blaming it on everything..that primary voting day is right after a holiday, confusion in polling place locations, that since Romney is the given nominee no one felt the need to go vote...and so on.

For the record, I live in the reddest of red areas in North Texas and I have NOT see a single Romney bumper sticker/sign/accessories. None. It is like he doesn't exist.

I can't help but wonder if alot of that has to do with repukes just not wanting to have anything to do with Romney.

So if Romney gives any "thanks to the voters of Texas" don't think there are crowds of repukes down here cheering and gathering in huge crowds ready to take a bow and welcome him with open arms. This is gonna get interesting the closer it gets to November!

14. What, did the Ron Paul Revolution go home to Surfside already?

Did Alex Jones give up on him at last or will he start a new conspiracy about why Paul is losing?

Ah, I just hope that Mitt's lack of interest in the Lone Star state might cause an upset. In the meanwhile, I suspect Rick The Hair Perry is busy trying to shut down all the votes he can.

Any success on the voter suppression there with that court case? Isn't the DOJ there?

Good luck guys.

Who is mittens running against in this primary?? Shit. If I had a human burrow to crawl in (all set-up, internet, music, man) I'd be there now. At least until the bs is over.
