Scott Walker Reports $30 Million In Donations Ahead Of Recall Election

Source: huffingtonpost

MADISON, Wis. — Republican Gov. Scott Walker has raised about $31 million since he took office 17 months ago, including a remarkable $5.9 million in the last five weeks reported to Wisconsin regulators Tuesday.

The first-term Republican reported his latest donations a week before he faces Democratic Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in a recall election that is also a rematch of the 2010 governor's race. The state elections board predicted Tuesday that turnout would be between 60 percent and 65 percent, nearing levels normally seen in a presidential election.

He actually raised 59 cents from a little kid in Manitowoc who felt sorry for him, and $30,999,999.41 from the Kochs.

It'll be Koch roads, schools, water, electric, you name it and it'll be in their back pocket. Rick Scott brought FL and thinks he's royalty and goes around lecturing Kings...

On an even playing field, Walker's chances of keeping his job would be about 1 in 10,000.

Huffpo has some real winners there, from both sides. Makes me really appreciate the comparative isolation of DU.

WASHINGTON -- The phones at Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett's (D) gubernatorial campaign headquarters were clogged all day Tuesday after an unsolicited text message went out to cell phones accusing Barrett of being a "union puppet" and telling Wisconsinites to call his office and complain. "WI@obamasaliar.com," read: "Tom Barrett is a Union Puppet who will give Union Thugs everything they want. Call & ask why 414-271-8050 ." The number goes to Barrett's office.

What is sad and sickening is that people actually called and clogged the phones of Tom Barrett's office.

I had faith in Wisconsin, but it seems that Walker, Fox, the Kochs and such have found a way to get those ill-informed and ignorant voters to the polls.

It is sad that people are so afraid of unions, but have no idea how much good unions have done for America and what they are currently doing to conditions better for all.

Why has this administration not used this as a central issue? The President should be in Wisconsin and this should be national news.

I just shake my head in disbelief thinking how crazy it is these people are planning on getting more than 1/2 a million back from his election. That's insane!

those writing the checks.

Ads should ask the question 'who is buying Scott Walker from outside the State of Wisc. and what do they want from him in return?' I don't think the disastrous effect of money in politics is being understood by a lot of people, many probably think that a candidate getting money like this shows that he is worth it.

Bought and Paid for by anti-worker Corps, Scott Walker, a puppet for the wealthy.

This after all is $30 million to secure an election that was already won once. Walker is a shitty governor and I think it's unlikely that he'll find a way to pay off his benefactors in the remaining time he has left.

On the other hand, knock him out right now, before he has a chance to burn his books, and half of his donor list is likely to be headed to jail with him. So don't give up!
