(5,186 posts)Interesting. Shows a sense of entitlement, no surprise. Bernie performed well in Iowa and will crush in New Hampshire.

(2,807 posts)"how can anyone consider voting for this horrible woman?" That is a tad bit over the top and counter-productive. Try not to act too much like the Republicans in your pursuit to win the office. Bernie doesn't talk that shit and neither should you.
Damn. Calm the fuck down.
I dislike her intensely, but I will try to refrain from "horrible." And I will, if necessary, vote, work, contribute, etc., etc., etc.

(2,807 posts)Just curious. I am hoping there are real reasons, not pretend reasons. If you would be so kind.

(6,592 posts)You know, I was going to cite everything I remember off the top of my head, but my turning point was the "I'm OK, McCain's OK, but I dunno about that Obama guy." Caused me to make my first-ever pre-general contribution. To Obama.

(2,807 posts)Being friends with McCain because they served as colleagues in the Senate doesn't bother me that much either. As for friends with the Bush's, well, I think that is more Bill and it has a great deal to do with the fact that they ex-presidents and do things together, like for charity etc.
Remember, Hillary is not Bill, and Bill is not Hillary. Giving money to their charity doesn't mean they are taking it as a bribe, it means that it is money going to a good cause. As for the speaking engagements, those happen because she could be President, not to mention was the Senator from NY (which is where Wall Street is, derrrr), and Secretary of State. She is a big hitter. One of the biggest. Read whatever you want into that, but that doesn't make it real.

(20,869 posts)The vile comments about Hillary have made me feel for her and I don't want anyone to think I'm one of the Bernie's supporters who appear to take notes from Rush Limbaugh.
I began last year not especially fond of Ms Clinton but was eventually repulsed by Sanders' supporters here on DU who call her everything but a feminazi. Lately they've even gone after her husband calling him one of the worst presidents in history. I rather like Bernie, but I don't want to be associated with supporters like you.

(11,841 posts)I know Sanders has been leading in NH, but has he ever been leading in Iowa?
But if she "wins", they'll claim a HUGE upset victory!
If I was advising Bernie & she does end up with a 50/49, I'd tell him to say "Nobody gave us a chance in Iowa, and we pretty much tied at the end. I'd say the future looks bright"

(7,318 posts)So these 1681 delegates get winnowed out at the county level and then the state level. Those 2 sets of numbers together are the total # of Iowa state delegates that go to the national convention. Technically, at any level the delegates can switch sides, but it would be very poor form to do that (they'd be skinned alive by their supporters) so the 1681 can for all practical purposes be reduced right now to the state delegate count.

(10,578 posts)Historically, that is the way they proclaim a winner in a state.
In 1992 Bill Clinton suffered a humiliating loss to Jerry Brown, when he was already assumed to be the eventual nominee, even as he garnered a few more delegates than Brown.
And in 2008 Hillary was declared the third place finisher in Iowa, even though she was projected to win one more Convention delegate than John Edwards.
